It's showing how much damage in total you have done to the Harasser???

Looks to me like an enemy empire indicator. Looks like that number next to it is how much health it has left?
Sandtaco

Maybe he ahs that implant that shows the name and health of the enemy.
i'd say that the person in question is a vanu.
point 1: his crosshair is green when placed over a vanu vehicle
point 2: he said he was vanu in the article :p

Maybe he's got a target lock on a person somewhere and that guys is moving around him, so the indicator is moving along with it. I don't know. Some evil Vanu trickery I'm sure.

remaining health on a friendly unit?
grief points indicator? he IS shooting a friendly unit...which would add up grief points
BLuE_ZeRO
2002-12-18, 05:36 PM
Well he's probably not talking about the compass or the message hud.
Sandtaco
2002-12-18, 05:36 PM
afex he can't be vanu. He is using a chaingun.
BLuE_ZeRO
2002-12-18, 05:37 PM
No he's not a vanu. That's a TR mini chaingun.
Jinxmasta
2002-12-18, 05:37 PM
It can't be the advanced targetting implant because that shows up over the person's head I'm pretty sure. I've also come to the conclusion it's not total health or damage done because it is a friendly vehicle.
9mm ammo on a chaingun? Eeew :P~
Jinxmasta
2002-12-18, 05:38 PM
Oh and we can pick up enemy empire's weaponry because at first I was thinking TR too but then I realized he played a Vanu in the article so it's probably a stolen chaingun.

Jinx why aren't you admiral yet? Didnt you only have like a 100 more posts to go like a week ago?

you guys need to read up on your info.
just b/c he can't buy it, doesn't mean he can't steal it.
BLuE_ZeRO
2002-12-18, 05:41 PM
Yeah that's true he could have stolen it... don't start assuming your some info god I just completely forgot about that.
Sandtaco
2002-12-18, 05:41 PM
So you can loot the other empirees for empire specific weapons? I thought you could only loot commonpool. Ok thanks for the info afex. So then I can use the chaingun and also those nifty other empire weapons :D
whoracle raises a good point.
not sure how grief points work with vehicles tho. (especially unmanned ones)
it IS in red tho, which is the international symbol color for "WTF?!?! STOP!"
Strygun
2002-12-18, 05:43 PM
hey afex...isn't what whoracle said what I told you a few nights ago on IRC?
If only you would listen... =)
Sandtaco
2002-12-18, 05:43 PM
Hmmm..... So we can see how much grief points we're racking up? And I thoughht you only got grief points if you killed someone.

2002-12-18, 05:43 PM
If he is hitting his own vehicle shouldn't there be some "You hurt your own teams vehicle" or something? Wait in the other picture he is driving the Harasser so he could be a Vanu or he just stole it.
id say its grief points and he is vanu. Even though he has the tr minigun...it might just be an internal beta thing that he has that gun. but isnt that where the squad health is suppost to go?
Jinxmasta
2002-12-18, 05:45 PM
It is a friendly target so the grief points make sense.
Oh and I'm not admiral because I haven't had much time to post because most of my free time has been consumed by video games :D

in the hud that shows your squad-mates, the bg bar behind their name represents their current health.

Yes I believe so... that guy might have advanced targeting implant on though but whatever. Do enemies health bars show up as green or red? If its red than thats a friendly vehicle and that indicator must be a grief point counter.
