View Full Version : 512mb Ram?
Do you seriously need 512 for PS to run smoothly? How does 256 stack up in PS?

You seriously need more. Atleast right now. You can get to play with 256, far from smooth. You can get it to play ok with 512, but still after 15 minutes in game or your first big battle it will use up that 512 and start chewing on HD. I went to 1024 DDR PC3500 from 512 and saw a good bit of load speed improvement and when entering the game stopped getting that minute or so of start up lag. But even now after about an hour or so I know my memory is about all gone, due to monster freaking memory leak currently. So feed it all the ram you can, but I am sure the memory issues will eventually get resolved and the game tweaked a little more to run pretty well on 512.

Im from the UK and a 512Mb stick of crucial PC2100 cost 55 which probably equates to like $70??? I have absolutely no idea on x-change rates.
but set aside $50 and I reckon you'll get 512mb for that easy
