I think that a hacker should be able to do more than just turn off friendly identification. I would like to do real damage with my REX. I want to hack the door lock so enemies cant use it, turn turrets against the enemy, and disable terminals. I want to be able to set vehicles to self-destruct when the driver gets in them, and make medical terminals do damage to enemies. I think adding some or all of these things would make the job of an infl / hacker much more fun. What could be better that turning an enemies equipment against them?

They really should add in this ability. I'm tired of sneaking around tower defenses, hacking tower, then having all my squad members get shot up by the enemy turrets still there.

No offense amigo but no hell no, hacking is already disgustingly powerfull by orderers of magnitude, this whould just make matters that much worse no offense.
Before you freak out I have one character with advanced hacking and one with advanced hacking so I know from experience we're powerfull as all hell. Having said that.

How is hacking powerful? We can help out friendlies, sure. Most people can hack for themselves so that is not all that great. Being able to beak into enemy facilities and restock at their terminals is great. I just want to be able to hurt someone via a hack. I think that would add a lot to the game personally.

Most hackers are Infiltrators. I don't consider a soldier with no armor, one pistol slot, and limited inventory to be all that powerful. Hackers have already been nerfed so all we want is to be able to do more with our Adv. Hacking cert and REK.

I agree, hacking is great and all, but all you can do is hack terminals, doors, vehicles, and... i know i missing something. I feel there should be more, just general chaos methods.

Oh and I'm sure some of you will start saying the Infils can cloak, that makes them powerful. Well no it doesn't it just makes them harder to find.

I got a late edit in on my above post, personal;y i agree with you that turrents should be hackable, I whould also like to see something put in to hack and shutdown the generator, albeit only for a minuete or so not for the same amount of time as when the gens are actualy blown.
However in response to that hackers are infiltrators? You dont have to be, I for one am an advanced hacker re-enforced armor decimator toting fiend. By being able to hack inventory terms I can instanly repair my armor/heal myself. Acess my locker anywhere. Slip into enemy bases (killing anyone i meet along the way) hack the vehicle pad and set up an ams in the courtyard so I dont have as far to walk should I die, and numerous other fun scenarios. Dont base the fact that yous hould be able to do more on that your an infiltrator, cloak is a powerfull tool. I believe you posted not too far back about how many people you can own with cloak and a knife, cant have it both ways?
