Cert Question

I am under the impression that you start your character and you get a few certifications to place into weaponry, vehicles, body armor, and equipment. Do you have to distribute them evenly? Does it help to put more than one certification in the same thing for example you put two into one type of weapon and you start to do more damage? Also when you earn certifications, are there specific ones like you earn a vehicle certification or do you just earn a certification and choose where you would like to put it?

You can't get certified twice in the same thing. A certificate just enables you to use whatever item its for. I know you start with the basic weapon cert, not sure about the others...

You start with standard assault - from there you can addon. You dont get a ton of points to start so you will need to use them wisely.

hamma, can you add more info to the cert pages about certs?


it doesnt say anything about certs costing different prices... or what you start out with without reading each cert's description.. think you could add a line about what you start with in the certification general discription?

also will vehicles require lesser vehicle certs?
can you pilot a galaxy w/o cert in reaver?
what will you --likely-- be able to pick at start up?(could you buy at the start a body armor type cert, a type of weapon(of our choice), and a vehicle cert)


also think it's kinda confusing ya say:

"Each armor type is acquired separately:"

then in the middle of the armors, if ya read the description for "standard issue", then ya see that you get this one free.. would be nice if you added in little things to make things more clear for people who just read "Armor", it's description, then skim "types" for ones they are interested in, but do not read each and every armor type =)

We dont know enough about prerequisites to modify the entire cert list. The only one i know is i needed a mosquito cert to buy a reaver. So preq's will be required for other things I am sure

were you able to select a good amount of certs starting out?

can you get a light vehicle & still get agile armor & weapon certs?

or do you need to choose between going infantry and piloting/shooting a tank?

You didnt have to specialize that much - I had medium/mosquito/balisk/hacker

but again, what I had is irrelevant because it will be changed. as Smoke already said when he commented on the certs - things are still being tweaked

yeah i know its gonna change =) it is in beta after all...

just wanna see how far i could get on my list of certs =p

Hacking
Medical
Repair

=p was hopin for an idea on how likely it was for things to have prereqs, I'll probably end up needing 1-2 for tresher, which means hacking comes from exp later
