Desert Eagle .50 Action Express Talk

Ok guys...it's about time someone talked about this baby. Talk about a big fucking hand cannon. This big bitch can shoot through 3 cm thick steal!!! I want a gold painted titanium one from magnum research. For those of you who don't know or have never heard of this baby, the agents in the Matrix carry them and you can shoot this baby in Counter-Strike (its called a night hawk in that game though) They are considered to be the best handgun evermade and are extremely accurate and will make a whole the size of a quarter if one happens to hit you.

Now here is my question to which this poll/thread is about.

Name any gun that you own or want to have and give a reference to where it is seen. Also type something about the Desert Eagle if you know what it is and if you would like one.

If you Please can post a pic of a gun with every post you make that will be great, that way this thread can work as a pic o gun and a chat about guns. Thank you!!!

Now, about the Desert Eagle. Having seen an actual model being shot, i can say that the .50 AE round is very potent. When a handgun can blow up (I mean, %100 fragged) a blackbird (pretty big bird), and strew his meaty bits all over the yard, you have a mankiller there.

Yes, the P90 is a very cool gun. All of the Fabrique Nationale guns i find interesting. The Five-seveN has a small profile, large clip, and high-velocity AP bullets. And, well, the P90 just looks cool.

Seeing that thing on Stargate SG-1 rips balls!!! Its a ball pup design that works well!!! Anyone else have more on guns? You got me all interested in all these gun stories and specs.

A 9mm will fuck up a watermelon, big deal. The DE is a worthless gun because you have to completely reaquire your target after *every* pull of the trigger.

We call it a "Deagle" and it's heavy. You hit someone with any caliber of a deagle and they're going down but a glock will drop a civi anyday and it's lite. Glocks are good guns. If you want to fight someone with armor you need to get an assault rifle though. Pistols aren't worth much on the battlefield.

Don't know the name of the other gun. I'm from the South. I've seen people with these guns. I called them friend. My 3030 has over 250 Deer kills.

I've seen a .50 cal sniper rifle fired before - that's a beast. I'm not sure the name, but it's the same one the SF guys use.

Good god, must i explain every time. You dont need a Desert Eagle with .50 cal bullets, aside from the fact that each round costs about $1. It's called the "NightHawk" in CS retail, not the DLable version becuase of copywright laws. It's huge because it's made by the Israeli military, which makes all it guns huge (I think they are compensating for something). If you want something useful get a glock, sure in CS "It doesn't kill in 1 hit", but i guarantee that a bullet from any gun to the head will kill the victim 95% of the time.

OMG, thx for dissing me :rolleyes: but I really dont care if the gun is expensive because I have actually fired one and was able to hit a watermelon from 300 yards with this sucker (it had a scope and had a 10 inch barrel and was custom slicked with firing treatment pigment.) No glock would be able to hit that at that range, so about that "recoil" all of you have been talking about, it really doesn't matter about recoil if you can snipe a guy from that far with is dinky piece of shit glock.

So please don't insult me for my opinion since you obviously are full of them.

Now just keep the posts a coming, I just am doing a little research on guns in the field and which one is the most popular.

Hi guys. :) Was searching for best sniper configs in PSU, and stumbled into this thread. My 2cents:

I'm by no means an expert, but I've had the opportunity to shoot most popular pistols you'll read about from smallest to largest calibers on the market.

I personally own a Colt Diamondback 38 Special, Beretta 92FS Inox 9mm, and MRI Desert Eagle P-Chrome .50AE at this time (and a bunch of rifles).

The Desert Eagle was never intended to be a carry/personal defense weapon. For starters, it fires single action only meaning you'd have to cock it before you could fire the first time. Secondly, its 4.5lbs with a full magazine (7+1). Thirdly, the flash from a .50AE at night is enough to blind both yourself and the intruder in a night-time defensive role (not to mention you might accidentally shoot a neighbor since it will take SEVERAL walls to stop a round with that much energy). Lastly, its a very large pistol as illustrated below:

The weapon comes available in .357 mag, 44 mag, .440, and .50AE (takes 30 seconds to swap barrels and magazines to convert between them). It uses hexagonal rifling (6" pictured but 10" barrel is also available), locking barrel, very wide site radius for a pistol, and the weight (reducing felt recoil) however actually makes it one of the most accurate pistols in the world --in those calibers--. Also the easiest large caliber pistol to fit a scope to.

But there is little need offensively or defensively to use calibers of that size and power (a .50AE round releases as much energy at 150 yards as a .44 magnum does at point blank btw) unless you need to drop a target with one or two shots. The actual intent for which it was originally built was for competative shooting and hunting (and just plain fun). A single shot can down a boar almost instantly in .44mag or .50AE, and while the recoil on the .50AE is still outstanding, I practice at 50 yards off the bench with iron sights and typically put the rounds within 5" of each other. With a scope you can go out to 100-150yards. And if you compare it to other powerful pistols such as the Taurus Raging BUll in .454 Casull, the Desert Eagle is wonderful to fire and you don't have to put it down after putting two shots through it. The .50AE releases less energy due to its much slower speed compared to the .454 Casull, but a 300grn hollow point or 350 is much like comparing a 9mm +P+ to a .45ACP... the cavity left by the slower larger bullet is UNBELIEVABLY large.

Granted the ammunition runs about .70 cents a pop when bought in bulk, and yet it is by FAR the most FUN pistol I have EVER had the pleasure to shoot. While I might trust my life to a brick shit-house like a Glock if the DEagle were the only other option, the Glock is quite simply the Honda Civic DX of guns. Its ugly, its boring, its not particularly accurate, its uninspiring, and its no fun to shoot... BUT its reliable and utilitarian (it'll get the job done and nothing more). The Desert Eagle on the other hand feels like... like drag racing a 645ftlbs trq Bentley. ;)

Its the only gun I've had the luxury of buying which I didn't have to buy to serve some kind of utilitarian purpose (home defense or concealed carry) but only because I WANTED one and the giant stupid grin it puts on my face each time I pull it out at the range after peppering little 9mm and .38Special all day. :D You really have to experience it and love shooting for the sake of shooting to really appreciate it. Plus, its fun scaring the living crap out of the person next to you by the unusually loud report, and otherwise always attracts a crowd to work as an ice breaker. ;) But just because it doesn't function well as a concealed carry like a smaller revolver, doesn't mean its not still a beautiful/respectable firearm.

I would take a basic Smith and Wesson revolver over a silly gun like the Desert Eagle.

The hardware is the least important thing about a gun fight. Mindset, awareness and skill are most important. Drool all you want over these "elite" guns, they are not magic and unless you train and practice with a gun, you will not be able to hit crap with it under stress.
