I've been playing Planetside during the closed and open betas but I still think that several ideas should be discussed. Additionally, talking to other high BR players have brought up several points and what's not surprising, most of them are the same.
The follow questions/situations:
1.) Not being able to enter into some heavy assault vehicles with the reinforced suit. Not being able to drive an AMS, ANT, Sunderer, etc. with an Agile suit restriction gives people less of a reason to drive them.
2.) Vehicles hold little utility which is why everyone uses them as lawnmowers. You have a gunner that seems to have all the fun whereas the driver has an agile armor restriction (to all that apply) and just drives. That gets boring for the driver so he just proceeds to ram his vehicle into people. If it blows up, who cares? He'll just buy another one and rinse and repeat. I've seen too many people just buy galaxies and reavers to suicide them into enemy AMS because no one else can get near it. Sure, it works but it doesn't implament vehicles into the game properly.
I don't blame vehicle drivers at all. I look at the reaver and I see that it's .50 calibar machineguns do almost nothing to infantry. Yes, the rockets do alot of damage but the guns, which is described as used for strafing infantry, hurts a little more then a bee sting. At first glance, it would look like the vehicles do tons of damage but costing of upwards of 6+ certs to drive them. It gives vehicles more of a purpose.
3.) There isn't really a reason for medics to even exist with the presence of med kits. There is no reason to be an advanced medic since almost everyone just respawns.
4.) I should get 1 shotted by a tank running me over at full health but not by a wraith.
5.) MAX suits are too powerful too soon into the game. The best way to take down MAX suits is with AV weapons or at least special assault weapons. However, there are pre reqs to get those types of weapons and MAX suits should follow the same route.
6.) Better Frames Per Second during large scale battles which is what PS is going to be geared towards.
7.) You should get exp depending on how much damage you did to an enemy. There are many times where people would hop into a fight without a squad, do most of a damage to an enemy, only to have someone else kill him and get all the exp for the kill shot. It encourages groups but not all groups are willing invite or aren't paying attention.
8.) If someone hits me, I get grief points.
9.) Infantry on infantry fights are too quick. Even with reinforced armor, you'll die if you have 2 guys shooting at you with suppressors. They should increase the armor absorb by about 30%.
10.) Vehicle pads are too crowded. There are countless times when I'm trying to help out my faction by getting an ANT or AMS but you have selfish players that are buying reavers only to suicide them into gun towers.
11.) Longer exp grind. Ever since the exp changes SOE has implamented, it is getting harder and harder to get to a BR where you can actively participate in a fight. Even at BR14 and using the old exp system, the grind can already be felt. Why put in this change that will make it even harder to compete? We have plenty of a grind at 14+ and being BR 20 would still make the game fun. Why is it companies keep thinking that exp is actually fun?
Any good ideas to chime in with? :)
