Do we need to reinstall if we have beta installed?

I was in beta and was wondering if all we need to do is put in the CD key when I get my retail copy.

I share an apartment with 3 other PSers and I do not feel like downloading several MBs of patches with one pipe and having to fight all the other patchers on opening day.

(Note: I'm assuming the amount of patching between the last beta patch and release is very small, compared to the amount of patching between whenever the CD was pressed till now).

Just need CD Key bro. Beta Client is good for retail aswell you may just need to DL a patch or two.

So you have to get a Gamecard before you can even play through your free 30 days? That sucks! I'm glad I have a CC

Does the Gamecard have a CD code on it?

So I just fire up my beta client, buy a gamecard, put some sort of number from the card on the game and then it starts up "as normal", downloads a crapload of patches and I'm good to go?

No you have to buy the retail version to get your CD-key

on gamesnet irc last night Briley recommended uninstalling the beta and installing the retail version, just to be safe. Since that is what he did, I will follow suit.

{}Muad'Dib{}, if the game card does not provide a cd key, what does it give you? It appears from the ordering graphic from Sony that the game card provides some sort of number....12 digit instead of 20?

Game card gives you time in game, like a phone card. You use it in place of a credit card to subscribe.
