Am I the only one who thinks armor is stupid as hell? It is basically a cop out for people with less skill then all of us armorless infiltrators???

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and learn how to use the shift key, it makes the little letters at the begining of your sentences big! :D

OkIMHO cloaking is balanced, I toyed with a cloaker during beta and havnt really touched it since. All they get its a pistol slot and 4 inventory slots. That right there is a huge amount of balance to them. Also two words, NO ARMOR. A good cloaker is the penknife to your decimator, they arnt going to kill a lot of people, but they will make one guy very very dead.

Having said all this a little situational awareness will save you a lot of pain when it comes to cloakers. I usualy spray down CC rooms with a liberal spray of Lead. I keep my eyes peeled for that little red beam, and I usualy get darklight as my second implant. Ammo is cheap if you see a quickly moving blur light it up, better to beg forgiveness from one of your own cloakers then ask permision.

As to cloaking vehicles I have no real complaints other then when i roll over a wraith with a sunderer it should kill the occupant, just my two cents. I dont think they need to be adding any more cloaked vehicles though.

Edit: typos

Wouldn't hurt if the Mosquito was cloaked.

Indeed, I would be fine with a bit less drastic armor as well.

Am I the only one who thinks rifles are stupid as hell? Don't you think they are basically just a cop out for people with less skill then us rifleless infiltrators?

Am I the only one who thinks inventory space is stupid as hell? Isn't it basically just a cop out for people with less skill then us infiltrators with tiny little inventorys?

To answer your question, yes, you just might be the only one who thinks that cloaking is stupid and just a cop out for people with no skill.

Sorry for going on and on, I have had a bad day in PS with n00bs. :D Time for me to go watch a movie and relax. popcorn:

Gonna have to agree to disagree with you on this one. I dont want any cloaked vehicles to have guns, and I already have a hard enough time killing airpower. A gunless cloaked aircraft i whouldnt mind as much although it'd still be a pain because now cloakers can do their own paradrops, but that's just my complaint. At least when a cloaker bails out of a vehicle now over my tower i can see the plane fly over and blow up and think "Hmmm i wonder if someone bailed"

Hehehe, yeah. I got alot of grief points today. I kept getting run over by friendly vehichles while in my MAX. One person tried to run me over with a wraith. Hehehe, *Dual-Cycler rounds go off* *Wraith Explodes* *MilitantBob Does a tiny dance in his big suit*
:D
I just hate it when they kill you for something they think you did wrong. I was locked down in the CC in front of the door. A guy inside wanted out (wich I didn't know because he was behind me) he didn't ask me to move, he just started to shoot me in the back, then he /tell me that it was my fault for being in the way, I turned around, locked down facing the interior of the CC and wasted him. I have never had as many GP ever as I have today, and it feels soooo good.

Being an effective cloaker takes finesse. you need to know whether or not it's worth the risk to try and knife someone in a group, or use your AMP and blast him. you dont know who has Darklight out of the group unles you see it activated, and by then you're probably screwed. Maxes are the bane of your existence, cause it takes a long time and lots of patience to knife one to death, and shooting just gives you away. so don't bash the stealthy ones, because our only defense is to remain invisible. no armor on the infiltration suit, hence 'suit' rather than 'armored exosuit'.

I like that ;)

Cloak is balanced, if you watch for them, your fine. If you get DL, your fine. If you have a good riffle (IE: are not using the phonix, or sniper), your fine. (cant tell you how many times ive died to a cloaker when driving my phonix  )

I've tried out cloaking and it is by far the hardest thing to do properly in this game.

Every time one of them nails me I don't get mad, I just secretly congratulate the guy on a fine kill.

Cloakers are easy meat in this game if you know what to look for. Also keep your ears open, because if you hear footsteps and they aren't yours back into a corner and start filling the room with lead or plasma.

Good cloakers never give you a reason to suspect their presence. If they do they're already dead.

The ideal cloaker has an audio amplifier implant, a Darklight implant, and a silent run implant. all of these would help him evade enemies, because you can't depend on just cloaking to keep you in one piece. adv hacking and combat eng helps with other duties, such as demolition and hacking. wraith gets you in and out. so the best outfitted cloaker is a very high level player, but he needs patience and skill to outwit defenders.

Kudos on being man (or woman, although i've noticed women gamers dont suauly make posts like this) to realize that you were wrong. And hey if you dont wanna cloak that's fine, me personaly i dont go cloaker just because i'm too kill crazed to sit there all stealthy like, maybe if they reworked hacking to give cloakers the aiblity to temporarily disable gens it'd be better but still.

I disagree with this on so many levels...

Audio amp/silent run...truly useless on a spy. If you have any skill or at least any brains then you can get by without these easy. The best outfitted cloaker is not a high level player. By BR 11 they have all they need and BR 6 if you do not include hacking.

cloaking does take skill, for those of u dont think so then ur idiots and u can STFU. all u have is a pistol and a knife for weapons. and u can hold like only 4 things in ur inventory. i had a cloaker in beta and i plan on having one when in retail. i had a lot of fun cloaking. all i i did was knife peeps. once i hit BR6 i got melee booster it helps. but it takes skill to get past spitfires, MAXES and regualr peeps. ur armor is limited and when ur discovers ur screwd. that all i have to say.:D

Theres just different levels of stealthing... I think i can cloak with the best of 'em at BR6. But at higher levels doesn't mean you're better. Just means you have more tools. I would never use DL. If i had 3 implants. I'd also change them depending on availability and situation. Some, maybe most situations i'd like to have surge/aa/melee. But if i do come across a really good stealth darklighter. Then, i got no issues with using DL to counter. At BR11... i think that where to get two implants. I remember in beta trying out many two cert combos. It's all situational. Which IMO is the hard thing to focus on inthe hea of battle. There's certain situations you know can't deal with. But ego and the repetitive nature of habit keep you pressing forward and perhaps too fast. Causing you to make mistakes. A solid cloaker needs only his suit. However, if he has more things available to him then things are just easier.

The thing i learned most from cloaking... how to catch them. I'm so confident im my ability to catch them, that i'm sure only absolute best ones will continue to evade and elude me. But really, to do that i know exactly what it takes. And i dont think i'd have as much fun playing that way. Cuz then its more of a patience issue.

So if are having a hard time with cloakers. It's cuz you dont have clue. Cloaker are almost playing a totally different game.
