Earlier today I spent a few hours playing on Konried when it had only one dot, and it was an exercise in frustration. Even putting aside the fun factor involved with fighting enemy soldiers, there wasn't any experience factor to act as a draw for new players or a way to keep the ones that were playing. Sweeping across entire continents and meeting only light resistances, vaguely aware of the bases behind us being hacked, while at the same time getting less than 100 exp for the bases we did manage to capture.
In short, it's impossible to advance in BEP or even have fun without willing opposition from the other team, and they have no real reason to oppose your attack. At the moment, it is entirely possible for our forces to simply skip over each other. When there are so few people on the server, it is downright impossible to guard the rear and advance at the same time. Even when forces actively try to find each other, they're as likely to miss as meet over the vast terrain. Clearly, there will be times when server population is this low (early in the morning, in the daytime, or on new servers). Even with so few people on the server, the rewards (both in terms of pure fun and exp) would be sufficient if we could simply fight each other.
I think this "forces skipping over each other" is a problem, and is somewhat of a problem on even full servers, but on somewhat empty servers is when it really becomes pronounced to the degree of ruining gameplay. I think the game should be playable with 700 people as well as 3000, and this problem needs to be addressed.
