i remember ppl saying this game is a FPS? granted after having played CS and learning the accuracy u need for that comming onto planetside is a disappointment of the accuracy of the NC weapons where as the red lazer looking weapons u can do rapid fire and get good accuracy

does anyone else have this problem? or is it just me :P

but the idea behind the game is good!!

First of all, this isnt CS, so don't expect it to be.

Second, the NC are known for using a lot of shotgun type weapons, so dont expect the accuracy to be all that good.

Also, theres no hitzones in this game, so if you hti someone in the head, its going to do the same damage as if youhit them in teh foot.

Different Weapons have better accuracy. Deal with it.

All weapons use a cone of fire system. I've done extensive testing with the assault rifles and they basically stack up like this.

VS most accurate/tightest CoF

NC decently accurate at the start, long bursts become the most inaccurate though

TR least accurate, very vast Cof expansion, maximum expansion is in between NC and VS though

I heard you did a whole mockup of the weapon comparisons before you got suspened on the official boards chavr.
Any chance you still have acopy of those? I'd liek to see them.

Yes, I still have them but there's a problem. Apparently they've made changes to the weapons without saying anything.

People were saying the guass seemed odd. They indicated that CoF seemed off. So I did a fast test on it. Here's the rundown.

Original test in beta the gauss maxed out at 1" CoF when crouched.

Second test in beta after gauss CoF improvements resulted in a 3/4" max Cof when crouched.

Live test on gauss when crouched resulted in a 2" maximum CoF.

The thing is, after I posted these results sporkfire came back and said the Dev's had not changed the weapon.

So either I can't measure a maximum expanded CoF anymore, or they made a change and dont' want to own up to it. Perhaps it's an accidental change and they don't realize it. Not sure what, but I do know the results are NOT the same.

To me this says all my results are now flawed and I can't rely on any of them without going in and retesting every single weapon. Which I dont' plan on doing. So I could post my old results, but I no longer trust any of them.

Oddly enough, it was not very long after I posted these results that I got suspended. Go figure.

I've heard many talks about the change in the gauss. I think you should trust your testing...its probably an accidental change that the devs aren't owning up to/ haven't looked at.

You can try bringing it up on the SOE boards. The last post is way buried. You can use the info I've posted. I honestly think they made a mistake somewhere and dont' realize it. Kinda seemed to fade away though after spork replied and I didn't go into it much. I was kinda miffed about being suspended and didn't feel like pushing the point with them at that time.
