I never got a chance to play the open beta but Im still really interesed in this game. What I want to know is it worth the 50 bucks and monthly fee?
To give you an idea of what I like (to see it this game would suit me):
Tribes 2
Unreal 2003
Americas Army
War Craft III
I play tribes on and off, Im getting a little bored of Ureals lack of dynamics, but In still reall in to AA.
To me I like the idea of an on going war ( the only thing AA lacks).
based on this would this game be a good buy for me or not?

you'll probably enjoy it for a couple days then find it quite redundant as many do since there's no form or objective to the game other then large scale base tag. I'd wait until there's a demo, $50 non-refundable at many stores isn't small change.

Wait till they revamp the exp system and make the game more then musical bases.

Imagine a game like Tribes, minus the jetpacks. Now take away every play mode except capture and hold. Then take away the hold part of capture and hold. Add a lot more barren terrain, a lot of near-identical bases, and you get Planetside.
EDIT: Find a friend or someone near you who bought it. They can lend you their CDs and you can use their 7 day trial key. I highly suggest you try it before you buy, because the novelty wears off very fast. It took me 3 weeks to get bored, but then again, those 3 weeks were full of changes and patches.

Well, if it's a small town, you could see if the store you get your games from lets you return open box games...I doubt it, since most stores don't allow that, but it's possible.
They won't charge you for anything, you just wont' be able to play after your 30 days are up. Not sure if it needs the CD or not, I'm assuming not if beta testers are able to play without opening their CDs.
There most likely wont be any demos as there are subscription fees.

well, I'm not too sure if this game is worth a whole deer but 13 bucks a month? sure. IMO best game around to have some teamplay fps action. so
