Funny thing happened on the way to Searhus

They nerfed my outfit name. Since we have been debating over which empire to stay with, I had created our outfit as STFU - TR so the other group could use STFU - NC if they wanted. However, today we noticed that it had been nazied. Apparently, they assumed our initials were Shut The Fuck Up, an acronym I just learned today! ;)

Well, obviously it is offensive that we might want everyone to shut the fuck up. In attempts to be a kind-hearted nazi, they changed it to an acronym that was as close as they could find, STHU - TR (Because Hell is ok, but Fuck is teh suck!). Well, we can't really be Storm Troopers From Uranus if our initials are STHU, so I boggled for a while about what the H could be, and then for a little while more about what the whole acronym could be changed to. I haven't come up with anything yet, but we're gonna discuss it and the rest of our future among the four left in the TR camp.

While PSU was down they changed it back, and we were about an hour from looking for a TR-Emerald outfit that will recruit us a group. Now we are once again deciding what to do with our Outfit, since its name has officially passed the filter test.

The saga continues. Today I log in to find that they have renamed my outfit to Happy Pecan Pie. While I must admit that pie is good, pecan pie is rarely happy, and is most often found on a murderous rampage. I am shocked that they would change my name to something so offensive, especially to people with an allergic reaction to pecans. The insensitive fuckers.

No kidding... Bodhidharma asked a customer service rep and was informed that since STFU is offensive (again), it had to be changed. They would be willing to change it to Storm Troopers From Uranus, but that kills the whole joke, now doesn't it?

Don't republics often have a guard named the Republican guard.

I've seen dumb things in MMOG but this takes the cake. and STFU I mean who cares, if you know the acronym then you're obviously old enough to handle it.

What I believe happened is that when the republican guard got changed they were told that a part of it was because of complaints. So they then went out and complained about EVERY outfit that could even sorta be offensive. Thus STFU Retards with Sticks, and many others were targeted.

And if your going to change the name Republican guard, change it to Terran Republican Guard. Removes any iraqi misunderstanding and keeps the spirit as originally intended. SOE needs to stop being so fucking witty.

The Republican Guard outfit would have been fine I think if they named it Terran Republican Guard. The simple Republican Guard reminds too many of the Iraqi troops which have been in the news so much recently.
