coincidence or correlation?
Guy in my outfit back in beta (waiting till after summer to buy PS) was little upset when a larger outfit came and displaced us. Discussion basically went that like everquest for instance, the game will shift to large outfits just dominating everyone/thing. I argued that while it was true for that base/continent, it wouldnt hold for the overall picture. This wont be the case because of limitations set by the game(timers/distance) and organization inefficiencies that come with size (communication etc). He insisted that large outfits would dominate in most aspects.
So i took a snapshot of today/yesterdays action. 3 columns of numbers with the description below
11pm EST 05/28/03
#People in 10largets outfits | % bases owned at 11pm today| %bases owned yesterday

vs 1192 30% 33.3

By no way is this a comprehensive study and there are too many holes/variables for it ever to be hehe. But its interesting that consistent across servers, when VS/NC have large outfits on a server they do worse over a days span. Seems like it just makes them effective in their "primetime" hours. Anyways i claimed to my outfit member id take 10outfits of 20 persons to attack a continent over 1 outfit of 120. But it seems overall, NC/VS keep thinking larger outfits are best suited to fighting TR :p TR i would say has the advantage inside bases, so the whole using base captures as the determinant for overall side balance is flawed imo. Why i took advantage of running as many of them over with my magrider when i could :p
BTW i played Gracho/Ifreet during beta on markov(vanu) mainly
