The first tested the ability to localize targets in a cluttered environment and spread visual attention over a wide area a skill that many elderly drivers lose. Gamers performed at least 50 percent better than nongamers, Dr. Bavelier said.
The second involved the ability to say, instantly, how many objects were flashed on a screen. Most people can do this with up to four objects, Dr. Bavelier said. Above that, they start counting. Gamers could identify up to 10 items on a screen without counting.
Saw this in the paper this morning, thought it was cool, what do you guys think?

WE WILL DESTROY THEM ALL!!!!
Sputty is probably right, since all future wars will be fought in space, or perhaps on top of very tall mountains, by small robots.

That sounds familiar Seer...did this come from a book/movie?
The Simpsons--Bart's military school commencement. The actual quote is:
"The wars of the future will not be fought on a battlefield or at sea; they will be fought in space or possibly on top of a very tall mountain. In either case, most of the actual fighting will be done by small robots, and as you go forth today, remember always, your duty is clear: To build and maintain those robots. Thank you."

There's one there!
Go to "Life Sciences", then "Sight and Sound Reflexes". It actually measures the time between when the object appears and when you click!

w00t, that was cool... got'em all! (been playing games for 14 years!)
you should try asking how many of a certain shape or color, that'd be fun

ya if i feel like refining it i could do that too. good idea. plus, obnoxiousfrog recommended randomizing the shapes so its not the same every time.
