Well first, i am soon getting this game, and want to know waht the populations are like, ive played on other mmorpg, somewhere u rarely saw someone, others where u were always running around people and fights,

i just want to know, are there like 1000 people on some servers, or like 4000?

also system specs, ive heard many things,
my computer right now wont run it, its about 3 years old i think, i am going to put in a new mother board with a amd 2400 thingy, :P and probably 512mb of ram, or 1gig, depends what the mother board can handle and what i can afford, unfortunately i cant afford a new vid card atm to, or harddrive,

so im still running my old 30gig HD and the vcard is a geforce 4 MX series one, with 64mb , will it still work with it?

im planning on turning the settings right down, and palying on a moderate pop server, i have a good cable modem so im not TOO concerned with lag, just my FPS :S

i have no sound card either, except what came with the comp, but that has never been an issue

thanks for the help

from what i have been reading, is it possible to run on a p3 850mhz i got 383mb of ram,

should i just buy the game first, then upgrde if needed, or upgrade first?

btw i live near toronto, how far away are the servers?

stick to the minimum specs and the servers can hold around 5,000 people.

3,000 on each server is about average for right now.

And your system will page like mad, along with a slow CPU will make for a very unenjoyable Planetside playtime. You will get very frustrated after being killed by system problems alone.

OneManArmy, 4,000 would mean the first dot would be red, I have never seen it red. So if it is "well over 4,000" then those dots would be red often. Last night was the heaviest night I have seen, Emerald was between 3,250 and 3,750 all night, Markov got up to 3,500.

"gforce 4 MX " you fell for that one too.... i would suggest getting the gforce 4 ti 4400... you will see a HUGE change in performance, and the 4 ti 4400 isn't that expensive anymore.

The gforce 4 MX is actually like a gforce 2... they just screw you on the naming convention.
