I was getting a lot of lag until I upped my memory to 768MB. That seemed to help a lot. In chat, some people were saying a GB would help. Hard to believe we're at that level of memory requirement but I guess we may be.
I need to check the other server sites. This one seems pretty quiet. I guess the game is pretty new so you wouldn't expect too much yet.

Nope. Not much under Markov either.

we had intense lag anywhere, but when we set up our machine with 512, the lag went, for the most part, away.

i only get lag when there are 50 people moving.
I think its because of aol.....aol+56k=so fucking slow.

They did a patch to the server side tonight. It seems to have helped a bit.

Not sure if did help or not. I still see about the same amount of lag as before.
I mean if I try to open a door sometimes it lags out where I will hear the door open and it takes anywhere from 1 to 2 seconds before I see it open.

that's not internet lag bub. It's what we call video lag...
either:
1. Get a better vid card.
2. Get more ram

Video Lag is the most seen, so yes get a better card. The only true lag I have seen is on a locked cont when all peps are at same base....its hella fun but does lag a bit....

I installed a pair of WD Raptors in raid 0 and that cured the lag. On top of that, I installed a GB of ram and it plays as smooth as silk.
BUT, we shouldn't have to spend this kind of money to make a game play. My friends who have played Everquest for years just boosted their ram to 768MB and found that they got rid of most of their lag problems too.
We're just going to have to install more and more memory it seems.

well you can't blame them for your 'slow' pc.
make your swap fille bigger.
stop other progis
screw down your settings
buy more ram
buy a new vid card
(a new pc maybe)
but if everything fails you could consider to stop. it's a costy thing to pay
1) for ps
2)for a whole new systeme!

Other than getting dropped by my cable provider every cpouple hours, and doors not functioning properly when crowded by a mass of players, I have not seen much Lag on Johari. Frame Rate is pretty decent even with 60+ in a SOI.

Everyone seems to complain about lag I find it strage that I get little or most of the time no lag no matter what server I play on. Strange why you ask? I play from australia on cable where 400ms pings is a good ping to the server.
I think people are confusing lag with their machine chugging along slowly. I have a good machine, my roommate has a crap machine his seems to lag a lot but I know it not the server or the internet connection as it runs fine on my machine to the same server using the same connection.
Admitedly I can see 56kers having lag seeing as the game uses 5-10mb bandwidth per hour.
