Yeah it's Flame again. I decided to re-reg to stay in contact with FC more easily. I've been playing for two days now, (had game for over a week) and I have been killed a lot. I have a few kills too, but not many. I made it to BR4 and have Reaver and Medium Assault. Ok, now for the thoughts of a newb.
Punisher is cool! I use it more than the Gauss due to excellent AV capabilities.
Reaver is hard to master, I've died many times, and I don't think I've killed anything in it. :(
Need help on macros, I've been attempting to set nades and Bail out of Plane to a F-key, but haven't accomplished it yet.
Medics are rare, I have yet to be healed by an applicator.
Engineers are rare, I don't see many BANKs being used.
VR sucks, it gets you almost no XP at all.
Warpgates are moody, sometimes I'll pass through one 10 times until it works, other times I'll make it on first try.
Ok, enough with the newb thoughts, on to my list of death. I have been killed by the following objects.

VS MAX
Magrider
Lasher
Wall Turrets
Slow Warpgate Load Times (GG)
Prolonged Map Usage (Look out for that-)
Trees
Bailing out into Trees
Trying to Land on Trees (Trees=teh suck)
AMP (Cloaker, I saw a shimmer, fired madly at a tree, died)
Reaver
Skeeter (I think, maybe not)
Pulsar (Most likely, uncomfirmed)
Lancer (90% sure)
Several other weapons that used bullets, therefore unidentifiable.

As you can see I fought a lot of Vanu, they chew up Reavers. Also, what's the point of Medkits? I rarely survive to the point where I actually have HP to heal. Also, my armor seems to not help much, stupid Agile.
All in all, this is one of the coolest games I have ever played. Hovering over a loaded Galaxy in my Reaver while preparing to attack a base gives me the chills it's so awesome. Also, MrV and I taking on a whole base by ourselves was cool too. I got the hack, but .002 seconds after Vanu killed me and took it for themselves. :(

*sigh* , well , i always see med kits being used , i always hear engi's giving out free heals , and i find it easy to get kills with the reaver ;/ , although , that just may be what i find (i find reaver easy to use- but many may not)

I use medkits as much as I can but in Agile I die so fast the point is moot. Hmm, need to find these mechanics sometime. I'm sure I'll get hang of Reaver soon, I've only played for about 7-9 hours overall. :(

Supposedly the BEP you got from VR training has been reinstated with the recent patch. Which will be nice for all the Noobs.

I'm glad you like the game. It just take some practice to get good with all the vehicles and weapons. Each one has its on use and particular feel.

Get an engineering cert if you're going to get any vehicle cert. It's a must in my book. I use the repair ability on myself and others all the time.

Since you're fighting Vanu a lot I hope to get the chance to kill you soon.:p

Medkits seem to be mostly the friend of us grunts in reinforced armor because we're one of the few cases where damage will actualy peck through our health before it eats through our armor. Myu standard loadout usualy includes three and i use them quite a bit. It's all the way you play, as a pilot i can see how you most likely whouldnt see them as much use.

A few things:

If you have a reaver, definitely get engineering. It makes life much, much easier. When you get damage you can just fly away and repair. Rinse and repeat. I leave my engineer stuff in the trunk of the reaver so I can hold a weapon and other things in my slots.

You may be getting killed in grunt combat b/c the Punisher does not have any, any bullet accuracy. The guass's accuracy is very good and I've killed people using the highest level zoom on it. I also don't use the Punisher because I'm not a fan of the Punisher anti-vehicle uses because the grenades are real slow moving and have to be reloaded each shot. Worthless, IMO. I think that with the Punisher you are a jack of all trades, master of none. You can't take out vehicles as well as special ops or anti-vehicle people and can't take out infantry as well as gauss people. I figure that I'll use the gauss so at least I am good at killing one or the other.

When shooting make sure you kneel down and fire in small bursts. Accuracy is much better than. Try and get a little cover, as the spray and pray guys will never hit you at all. The med kit has save me a bunch of times and I'm a big fan of them.
