buddy key?

k my friend is using a 7-day buddy key that my other friend gave him. Well i just bought ps today and theres the little circle card that says ATTENTION new recruit!use the special key code on the back of this card and go to war...

thers no key on the back...just white paper. Is the buddy thing over with or what?
