This is just to see what YOU guys think, all ready did something like this on another forum for another game, but the question still applies.

You forgot Tribes/Tribes 2 which has almost the exact same back story as Planetside. If you ask me that's the game that spawned the idea for Planetside, and the reason Dave G was brought on as the Lead when Dynamix (:() met it's fate.
I don't think any of the games you mentioned had any influence over PS.

Hmm.. I meant without this game, PS wouldnt have been developed in terms of FPS histroy.. gotta remember not to think too hard after taking my meds... can I just click my heals and say "Back pain, BEGONE!"

Not sure, try it. I think it owes it existance to Tribes, but that's just me.

Planetside = pong + tetris/pacman hybrid
btw how can you mention something like counterstrike and not mention any of the Quakes? Quake series is one of the best series of games right up there with Doom. iD knows there stuff :D

I had a really tough time between Doom or Wolfstein 3D.
Wolf was the first FPS out there but in the end i went with Doom because Doom was the first to make it big and show the gaming industry that a lot of people enjoy that type of game.
