To answer your question we will be having an XML script here. I think Hamma is working on it right now. You'll have to contact him for more detail.

No, wait, i know it is, dynamic html shit - I have done my share of web pages. I mean what is this going to give us? Is it that daily stats thingy on my planetside?
If it is its kind of, well lame, sure it was cool for like 5 sec but not very useful. Or are we going to see other stuff like constant updates on what is going on on the server and detailed stats on you and everyone else? Not just how many you killed in total and by empire, but maybe how many towers you have hacked, how helpful you are doing you're duty as medic or what not else?

Ok, just let me point out that I hope when you did your "fair share of web pages" you actually used some grammar and a spell checker or 5.

XML is live data, Outfit stats probably. Among other things.
You can pull this live data into a php, or asp script. Hell, even an IRC script if you are feeling dangerous :D Then spit it out in any form you want. You can make it pretty fancy, and do a bunch of stuff with it. Camelot Hearald sticks out in my mind when thinking of XML, they provide allot of data from their servers.

Layman's Definition:
XML (the eXtensible Markup Language) is a markup language, as is HTML, but XML contains no formatting data (like links, colors, font styles). It's primary function is for data transport in a structured and object-oriented format.
Significance:
SOE can make game data (outfit/character info, world status, etc.) available to the public who may then, in turn, convert it to a pretty format, or insert it into a database, or a myriad of other applications. One useful example is that an outfit roster, complete with points, rank, certifications, et cetera, could be extracted from this data and displayed on an oufit's web page with little to no effort.

ive seen the XML nicking data from game/databases etc work well on other fan boards (the fairly decent ebportal.com being a good example) and yup... cant wait to see it in operation. Should be very good.
