Let's face it, Skeeters need some help. Right now they're Skeets, as in skeet-shooting. I have never piloted one, personally, but I have seen piloted like two times. The Reaver:Skeeter Ratio is about 50:1. There needs to be some changes around here.

1. Give Mosquitoes a sensor package, any ground unit within 100m of them at midway point on the alt level, gets picked up on radar. Therefore, the Skeeter would be a mobile sensor package. The lower you go, the farther away the range is, ex: At treetops level, 150m, at ceiling height, 50m.

2. Maybe give them a cloaking deal where if you're an Infiltrator you can turn on cloak. Using afterburner or weapons kills the cloak for about 4 seconds. The higher you push the throttle, the less you're cloaked.

3. Add empire benefits to the Skeeter? A red one is going to be spewing a lot of lead at you, a blue one will be packing a punch, and the purple one needs a small plasma grenade effect as well as increased CoF. I add the plasma due to the fact aircraft CoF remains relatively small after a period of firing compared to assault rifles.

Just a few suggestions not meant to be added altogether, but just 1 or 2 or maybe 3. Thoughts?

Well, they aren't useful because the reaver is just so much better. Anyway I say no to the cloaked mosquito. That would just be impossible to deal with.

We just can't have them turn into the overpowered Tribes 2 shrike.

If you think the skeeter is useless, you're using it wrong.

Amen brother!

A good skeeter pilot will rarely ever get shot down (unless they run into a better skeeter pilot). Skeeters have the distinct advantage of choosing whether or not to stay in combat. If things don't look good for them, they can just bug out.

If a reaver and a skeeter are dogfighting, and things are going wrong for the reaver, he cannot outrun the skeeter.

Also, the motion sensor thing already in the skeeter is way powerful! I am a stealther and get uncovered by those damn things all the time. A slow moving skeeter can uncover a stealther even if they are crouch walking!

My only complaint about them is that they seem to make the same amount of noise that a reaver does. I say either make the skeeter quieter or crank up the volume on the reaver. A skeeter is supposed to be a recon vehicle and the reaver a gunship.

I would like to see a cloak that drains the afterburners, so, you can have speed, or stealth, and it would last for about 1 min or so,

My current planetside goal is to shoot down 100 reavers. I am up to 28 so far and getting several per playing session. I have also managed to kill around 500 infantry, the vast majority of which were waxed by my skeet.

I did get pwnt the other day by a Reaver, because I was in the map screen.

I hate how reavers can sneak up RIGHT behind you and open up 100 missles in ur ass, they are way overpowered, Skeeters need some hook, u know, gally carries multiple ppl, Reaver has firepower, skeeter has.. what, only reason most ppl get it is to save a cert point and still get to fly

I'd like to see the reaver go to 5 credits. Makes it worth the power you get. Reavers are very powerful (my first night flying them, I was owning everything).

The skeeter is nice, but I would like to see it's ability to land on uneven surfaces increased. It would be used a lot more by snipers and infiltrators if they could hide it in areas where it won't be easily found (crevaces).

A cloaked version would be cool if it had no guns and could be used for scouting or for snipers and infs. I'd almost go as far as saying the skeeter could be 2 credits..but that may be pushing it.

Skeet has range and accuracy over the reaver, it strafes faster, it turns tighter, it takes down infantry easier, and it can do something the reaver could never do, hunt down infantry that are hiding in the woods.

I'm telling you, it doesn't need anything. It is not intended to be a powerhouse, but it really is anyway once you get the hang of it.

The Skeeter already has a sensor package.

Skeeters are cool, I just don't use one because I usually am not good with aiming the machine gun, they rock in dogfights tho...
