This take a good 20 mins, so as you can immagin i am rather annoyed. I have tryed uninstaling, reinstaling the game, but to no avail. I also formattid my PC, and reinstalled, again, to no avail... Someone else had this problem, I dont know if they found a solution or not :(

I would contact SOE support and see if they have a solution. If they do please post here so we all know ;)

Are you changing any files at all? How about changing the MP3 files have you touched those?

1) Does it actually download anything each time?

2) Do you have any anti-virus software you can use to scan for viruses?

3) Run ad-aware and clean up any spyware that might be running.

Hmm, well i did have norton - aint installed it yet tho. It never downloads tho, just scans the whole PS folder
I was kinda thinking that as i had Formated my pc taht any spy/adware that i might have had would have gone, so i doubt its that.

I know mine does a scan every time. But it doesn't take long. I really don't know what could cause that. Very odd.

Have you tried a reinstall? Not the most desireable thing to do, but it fixes alot of problems some times.

Just throwing it out there, but do you have the "complete file check" option turned on? If so, you want it to be off.

Every time you run the game, it is going to do a cursory check of files to be sure that you have them all, and that the ones you have match up with what you are supposed to have (to prevent cheating). But there is a further option which has the game go through each file in detail checking for anything that might be corrupted, and this process takes an ice age.

They mean it full scan everytime which is true, but mine doesn't even take 2 seconds to do the full scan, like someone said, try re-install

I think he means thorough file check , which it only does the first time , or when you click to do it (normally)...that takes longer than 2 secs .
