View Full Version : Fun with Strikers

Dual strikers, that is! I decided to load up my reinforced with two strikers, and all the rockets I could carry last night. Obviously, this is not for everyday use, since with only a pistol slot to spare, you're dead meat against enemy grunts.
But, man, having that second launcher loaded and ready to go really worked well -- MUCH faster than reloading. I took down several unsuspecting skeeters and reavers like this while defending a base. Most pilot seem to know about how long they have to locate you before you reload and fire again, but that second striker seemed to cause some confusion :)
Also FWIW, it appears that missiles are "bound" to YOUR lock, NOT the lock of a particular launcher. So even after firing a missile from launcher 1, it seemed that I could whip out launcher 2, get a lock, and the missile from launcher 1 would track that lock. YMMV, but I had a good time with it.

Yeah that config rocks for clearing the skies. Another good tactic is to fire off the first round before acquring the lock giving them less time to get out of dodge.
Shame the ammo takes up so much inventory space. I traded my striker for spec weapons for now.

I keep thinking about going to the Striker, but I really have to say I prefer the versatility of Special Weapons. Although it is always a nice feeling to see a squadmate packing the Striker.

I had special assault for awhile, but ended up trading it in for AV. Got really sick of not being able to do jack against enemy aircraft (other than those parked on the ground...). I do plan to get special again when I have the credits, I think the versatility it gives is easily worth 3 credits.

:stupid:
I had both for a while but traded in my spec assault for reinforced so i could carry another gun with my Stryker, there's just too many Reavers out there to not have it. I'll probably get spec assault back, although i have to get a vehicle cert before hand, i'm BR12 with nothing but my feet.

You can't always take down someone with a single shot from the driver. Line up your target, fire one, switch rifles, then fire two. Even better with the range magnifier implant so you don't zoom out when your switch bolt drivers. Just have to remember to reload both drivers again.
