Ok many have pointed out that all the tanks currently employed in game are medium tanks, so what does everyone envisious heavy tanks as. I personaly seee something big, ponderously slow, too tall to fit under the archway of a base, a main battery that tracks slowly but does serious damage. I forsee it eing slow moving, maybe 40km top speed, and requiring a bigger outdoor pad to be placed at the tech centers. A gunner position operating the main gun emplacement plus an antiaircraft/antiinfantry gunner plus a driver who also handles foreward and rear mounted machineguns. (these are fixed implacements giving a spray of anti infantry fire. Finnaly on top an antiarcraft rocket launcher. The gunner position and the driver position whould both require the certs just to insure that not everyone whould have one of these. If you really wanted to be cheaky you could also give it transport capabilities, although since the thing is considerably slower driving then a sunderer it's negotiable how usefull this whould be.

Bolos and Ogres would not fit into the game from the simple perspective that they have no crew, which would make them NPCs.
A crewed Bolo-like tank might be ok, but you'd have to dumb down its weaponry significantly so that they could be effectively be controlled by 2-3 people.
As for an Ogre-like tank...um, hell no. Armor impervious to any hit less than a nuclear weapon is slightly out of context for this game.
Neither Bolos nor Ogres are slow in anything they do, BTW.

I didn't detect any such hint of having anything automated in what he said...
Well, if we are still talking about Planetside, and you are assuming they would implement some sort of heavy tank in the future, it couldn't be much taller or longer than a Sunder without some sort of special pad. It could be a little wider.

I meant BOLO/OGRE size in relation to normal tanks and the armor by comparison not that they whould be AI controlled.
Yeah, and you though you had a hard enough time taking out prolowers and vangaurds on foot
Oh great a 40ft tall tank that can home in on us and is one hit kill!
Hoorah!
