If u havent got a router u may still be able to check these ports with ur ISP they need to be open both out and in.
This solution solved my problem, so did playing direct through my modem rather than through the router.
1. Click on start, go to run and type "iexplore
http://192.168.1.1/filters.htm" in the address box, and click on OK.
This is the default internal IP address of your network, so if you have
changed it use the new one.
2. You will be prompted for a username and password. By default there is
no username and the password is admin.
3. Once you've gotten past the log in you should be on the filters tab.
4. Select the Forwarding tab then click on the Port Triggering button.
5. Once you've done this a new window will appear. Here is an example of
how to fill out the ports:
Application name: Planetside
Trigger port range: 1023 65535
Incoming port range: 1023 65535
Note this is for linksys router, but u get the idea make sure these ports arnt getting blocked, thats the problem, u lose connection then after awhile u will lock back to the server list.
The reasons are becoz of the below.........
Patch Application:
A TCP connection is initiated from the player's PC (using ports numbered
>1023) to patch.planetside.com, port 7000. There are multiple IP
addresses for the patch.planetside.com clusters, and they may change as
the network demands, so check often using a DNS lookup tool if you
provide a specific firewall rule for patching.
Planetside client:
UDP datagrams are sent to/from the player's PC (using ports numbered
>1023) from/to the Planetside servers (using ports numbered >1023).
Additionally, ICMP Unreachables (ICMP type 3) are sent to/from the
player's PC from/to the Planetside servers.
The Planetside server IP addresses are on the subnets:
64.37.148.* , 64.37.149.* , 64.37.150.* , 64.37.151.* , 64.37.156.* ,
64.37.157.* , 195.33.132.*, 195.33.108.*, 195.33.133.*, 199.108.1.*,
199.108.2*, 199.108.3.*
Please note that Planetside opens a random UDP data port from the
player's PC every time Planetside is run. Thus, the need to have all
ports >1023 available.
still lock back to server list
