For the record, no adjustments will be made as the result of a petition. Weapons will be adjusted only if severe game imbalances present themselves. Topics on this board may result in analysis of a given issue, but balance decisions will not be made according to any petition that shows up on these forums. Petitions may be very useful for saving local landmarks and endangered species, but not for gameplay decisions.

Some guy was trying to petition to nerf the JackHammer. I'm a TR and I know what this feels like to no end. I don't have a problem with it at all. If DEVs nerf everything, we'll be sitting in CC's lobbing snowballs at each other.

instead of nerfing stuff, they should just make other stuff stronger. so now instead of it just being hard for you to win against one empire, its going to be much much harder to play against that other empire too.

If you always boost and never nerf, you end up with "character inflation"...boost the other maxes to keep up with TR, boost vehicles so they can kill the boosted maxes, boost infantry so they can kill boosted vehicles, etc...at some point, someone has to grow a set and decide when things should be nerfed, instead of blindly boosting anything that's not totally uber...

Probleme being if they make everything stronger it will be 1 shot kills everywhere in the end. Its balancing..not nerfing...not buffing...just balancing

when they over do it is when you want to start worrying

First of all, game distance is not measured in feet. It is measured in meters. And, if I'm 2 METERS away with a Jackhammer, that person is going to go down exceedingly quickly. Also, a meter is a little more than 3 feet. In other words, the Jackhammer OWNS AT 2 FEET.

This comment is not a cry for the nerfing of the Jackhammer. I love it. I regularly stock them in my locker, and there are few joys within Planetside that can rival the joy one receives when Jackhammering NC's with their own prized possession.
