I propose we found an association. MBAA, the Music Buyers Association of America. Basically by becoming a member you agree not to buy anything released by any studio associated with RIAA until the RIAA is disbanded and ceases any and all further intimidation acts such as this one (there have been others sadly).
I can almost promise this would never work, and it would hurt the musicians as much or more but it'd almost be worth it just to watch the music industries profits plummet like a rock :p

:'( thats awful.
He had no control over what people had on the network, but then again i guess he shoulda thought about piracy before he created the search engine.

Considering you can do the SAME EXACT THING with windows as you could do with the search engine. So if they follow this line of thinking the RIAA should face Mircosoft and it's legions of bloodsucking lawyers. But since they could actually lose the case they go after the poor college student who has no resources to defend himself. The RIAA is acting like a schoolyard bully......

RIAA are a bunch of evil bastards, no doubt about it. Its kind of hard to actually DO anything about them though. I'd say they were like cancer, except people actually have a chance of beating cancer. For the mean time, we're just stuck with the RIAA. :(

I knew that.. My band barely made enough off CD sales to cover the cost of the CD. Almost entirely, money is made from merch and shows (tours).
Therefore, I'd wager that most of RIAA's money comes from CD sales. Bastards.
