  • External Bionic
A stripped-down MAX unit reveals its interior shock-absorption balancing stabilizers. This is air-tighened around a 'pyjama' suit. Without the weight of the MAX suit grants users improved physical performance. (replaces Surge & Melee Boost)
  • Outfit Commlink (Social Media integration)
Your Outfit's social media connection would feed through a 'PlanetSide 2 Sitrep' application for [F], [T], [G+]. In-game Events of sorts and Official Messages can be automatically posted into your guild/clan/outfit social webpage, from which then can be sub-fed into your Outfit website's Facebook, Twitter and/or Google+ feed.

ATV's as beacons for drop pods .. sure that sounds great!

Stealth vehicles can be overpowered very quickly and I would want anything of this nature to be specifically designed from the ground up to be a "stealth vehicle."

EMP trooper - gets a no, not because EMP is a bad Idea but because the sundy fills this role in a really cool way and removing this uniqueness is a bad idea.

Sticky camera ... assuming that the camera uses the entire viewport (to reduce network traffic) that sounds like an awesome and paranoia inducing idea!

the deployable ideas also seem pretty cool too, the only thing against these is they would probably take too much work to add for launch =)

I edited the OP to make it more clear. What I propose is an area denial EMP device that pulsates with disrupting waves.

Check out this thing I'm about to do.

I do not see what the purpose of this is at all. It seems totally arbitrary.

[*]Single use spawn point as a high-level medic skill.
Enemy Territory Quake Wars Spawn Host
Vanu should become the Strogg faction of evil cyborg-human-monsters and spawn host should totally make a come-back. Otherwise you can just spawn on your squad leader.

[*]Vehicle Stealth
Mod taking vehicle's Gun Slot, being a high-level Infiltrator Speshul Tul.
I'm not sure magmower-like gameplay should make a return. OR, they've said the reason the AMS was removed was they did not like the gameplay of cloaked spawnpoints. I think a cloaked sunderer would also be kind of lame. Everyone would sacrifice their weapons to drive a cloaked troop transport, but then where's the fun in that?

[*]Riot Shield
Heavy Assault speshul tul.
Why not just grab a MAX?

[*]EMP Tromper (Disruptor)
A small constantly working device with visible AoE, disabling jumppacks, vehicle movement, and disrupting vision around it.
So it pulses until someone shoots it or something? Sounds weird.

[*]Anti-infantry spikes
You step on it, you take damage.
Are there not anti-personnel mines? I know they mentioned anti-vehicular mines, but...

[*]Vehicle Flamethrower
Lightning and MBT Upgrade.
They may already have anti-infantry guns you can swap into them. Certainly the lightning has been said to have a 6-shot cannon that is supposed to be good against infantry. The MBT might not, but the MBT should be more about killing ground vehicles than killing infantry. Either way, flamethrower sounds very short range, which with directional armor making rear hits from anti-armor weapons pretty dangerous means you probably wouldn't want to get close to infantry under any circumstances. So, I guess it'd just be for camping doorways or something?

[*]Visible Nightvision
Glowing effect on a person using the NV.
Also helmet lamps and gun lights.

[*]Sticky camera with delayed feed
Infiltrator speshul tul.
The more recon gear for infiltrators the betur.

[*]Deployable Outfit/Empire Standart
Item shop item with no particular use.
ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

[*]Deployable Fireprism [VS], Beltfeed Emplacement [TR], Mining Laser Cradle [NC]
Manned stationary devices. VS get damage bonus, TR get RoF bonus, NC get CoF bonus for used weapons.
Wasn't fireprism the name of the space elf tank in Dawn of War?

[*]Jet Overloaded Exhaustion
Aircraft Smoke Trail with big radius, to decrease visibility of an enemy tailing it. With customised color.
You just want to put on air shows you big nerd.

[*]Flashbangs
Ever-conventional method.
This shit would be spammed so hardcore.

[*]Vehcile Un/Mounting Animations
Specifically I propose first person animations.
It's just enter/exit animations who even cares.

Spawn beacon on 4 wheels that allows squad leader to move more freely. Not arbitrary at all.

Motion sensors also work until somebody kills them.

Friendly fire makes AI mines quite inconvinient. Some tool like this would be cool for it has no AoE and is not going to damage an idiot sitting next to it if it explodes. Also there were no claymores in PS1.

Is that supposed to be sarcastic? I mean you're the one against the "green day" night gameplay.

I have never heard of the Eldar. But well, prism obviously amplifies light and VS weaponry is based on light.

You have galaxies, towers, probably other stuff, and also squad leaders themselves to function as spawn points. A glut of mobile spawn points wouldn't be a good thing.

Motion sensors also work until somebody kills them.
I was clarifying whether that was what you had in mind as you never specified whether they'd be destructible deployables or not. Either way it's a pretty broad thing to be able to put on the ground, something that disables vehicles and jetpacks and etc. Would need a pretty serious trade-off.

When would you want to use one of these instead of an anti-personnel mine, then? AOE isn't really a big deal in PS1 as far as mines go.

No I'm not. I'm against night vision/etc that is mandatory because you cannot see basically anything more than a few metres ahead of you, but the game won't work like that, but night will still be kinda dark. In that case I do not mind the option of using night vision which makes it "green day" but also has the drawback of making your head glow. I also like flashlights because they are cool and remind me of the movie Aliens.

Why not?
Literally pointless.

I have never heard of the Eldar. But well, prism obviously amplifies light and VS weaponry is based on light.
So you just happened to come up with the same name for the Vanu energy-weapon-thing that the Eldar's hovertank which shoots energy beams is called? Well, I guess that's possible. Strange coincidence, I guess!

The name of the thread covers most of my ideas.
I would respond to this, but I can't see anything on account of the flashbang spam which will be so thorough in your version of Planetside 2 that it literally flashbanged me in the past.

Why should I care that nobody cares?
It's just visual fluff which is worth far less than it takes to accomplish. People are also very used to the notion of teleporting into vehicles, so it isn't like people would bat an eye if it's not in the game. Well, maybe PS1 players as they seem to cry about everything that will not be in PS2 that was in 1, but fuck them.

What if those ATVs replaced the owning squad leader in means of spawning? Just as BF3 beacons do.

Visible AoE is enough of a trade-off, don't you think?

Both EMP thing and those spikes came to mind when I was thinking on how to limit Light Assault's freedom.

LOL. But I disagree. Half of the people protecting boarding animations are protecting its delay, not "visual fluff".

You're talking about totally disabling vehicles and class special abilities and such in an area of effect. That's huge. I guess if they also disabled all friendly vehicles it might work because then you could grief people with it and your allies would be forced to destroy them and take a grief point hit for it. So it'd be a sweet grief device.

Both EMP thing and those spike came to mind when I was thinking on how to limit Light Assault's freedom.
Well, the freedom is kind of the point right? I mean, you're sacrificing heavy armor, and heavy assault weaponry, for the jetpack. And besides, landmines killing friendlies if you throw them down where friendlies are liable to be is good. Landmines don't need to be aimed. You just throw them on the ground and go beat off somewhere. They should have drawbacks.

No I can pretty much tell there'll be lots of people willing to place their Empire's banner on top of the captured structure.
Base stuff changes colour anyway when captured though, right? Or does it not in PS2?

You didn't see whatIdidthar...
I am super dumb so if you could explain it to me I'd be appreciative.

LOL. But I disagree. Half of the people protecting boarding animations are protecting its delay, not "visual fluff".
Oh, well, that's something that could be easily added without needing to animate it like before. Y'know, like using a hearthstone in WoW. Just some glowing nano junk for a couple seconds.

1st: I'm not talking about totally disabling vehicles. I was very specific in the OP.
2nd: If you see a strange enemy thingamajig with a pulsating circular glow around it, will you shoot it?
3rd: Predicting another statement: Stuff like this is for area denial and should not hurt friendlies. Traps have worked perfectly after they were implemented, people can shoot them easy enough, it's their fault they don't.

Empire/Outfit pride worldwide is the answer to this one. You're definitely not a majority on this one.

This game is more or less about futuristic realism. The most unrealistic part of the nano junk would be the amount of lazyness you need to invent such a thing.

EDIT: Hell it feels strange to speak of PS in past tense.

A vehicle that can't move is pretty fucked. You're right though, that isn't totally disabled and it is conceivable that it could shoot the thing if it were able to. Either way it's a rather massively powerful and broadly-useful device you're proposing, and it would have to have some very real negatives to balance it. Even making it affect friendly targets might not be enough.

I actually don't have any Empire pride so you are correct. Planting flags stirs no emotions in me. I am apathetic to even my national flag. As an individual I am not given to feeling pride over anything not wrought with mine own hands.

I rewrote that comment once where I changed their name from Eldar to space elf, so you are correct, but I figured you'd just googled it if you were being genuine.

Realism is really not what I'd say the game is about. This stuff we do in Planetside isn't even close to what a realistic scenario of futuristic warfare would look like. I don't think vehicle enter/exit animations matter and truthfully I don't think having a delay before entering or exiting a vehicle is so important either. Well... maybe exiting should have a delay.

Having it be a drop pod spawn point would be interesting. I like that idea, even if it does remind me of that fucking awful Dawn of War intro video.
