ATTENTION ROY:

NO UNBEARABLE MOTION BLUR. At least 3 games which I played with such Motion Blur on caused a headache for me. BF3, Global Agenda, Batman Arkham City.

Crysis 2 has it some way that it doesn't hurt. Though it could be just amount of it that matters.

DO IT AND YOU'LL BE MY HERO!

We have motion blur, but you'll be able to turn it off.

I don't find it unbearable...

Re: Community Night November 2011 Recording!

There was frequent talk during this month's and the October podcast about VS weaponry, but with the new game I'm kind of interested to know from the studio what we can expect from how it will damage armour...

Might we see that particle weapons cause an initial impact or splash damage, and then a "corrosive" damage dissipating over time that slowly continues to eat away at armour/health?

Would be nice to see a forge light demonstration video not showing off PS2 but mainly just the engine itself and what it can do.

Thank you for letting me turn it off. Motion blur is annoying to me and it just makes games look like ass.

Also, I do not want my FOV to change while I'm sprinting, and I want Quake FOVs of over 110 cause I'm all about speedy close-quarters gun fighting.

I hope the game can play well enough around the world so that we could have one server everyone can play on, I loved that about EVE-Online so many people from different parts of the world. Russians are insane. "Oh lets drink mad Vodka and fly this HAC into an enemy fleet!"

Thats clearly impossible for release and for many years after release. Eve has the benefit that it can have 1 to 10000 players in a single star system. While 10000 players fighting would cause serious lag, it would still be somewhat playable due to the point and click style of the game.
Now, playing a FPS with lag is no fun. But we wont even get to that point, as we cant put 10000 players on the same continent, as it would be rather crowded then. On top of that, there is a rather limited amount of continents, means you just can have so many players in your world.
Once they add more planets with more continents, servers could merge. But the global world server could only happen with the addition of space combat, because space is the only space where you have enough space.

Yeah, an FPS game can't even be compared to a game like EVE when it comes down to importance of latency or even the stuff the server needs to keep track of. EVE doesnt have free movement, abilities are autotargeted, etc.

Not to mention, the people who just happened to live near the server would ALWAYS have the advantage, no matter how much technology goes forward. I want my EU servers, thank you very much
