Re: Exclusive Vanguard Screenshots Noticed that one of the screenies gives a pretty good image of the soldier-tank size ratio: I think that's big enough. For comparison: |

Re: Exclusive Vanguard Screenshots Any one know what I mean when I say all these screenshots look more like when you see pictures of Warhammer figures on the table with all the little houses and that lol. It's weird they don't look real, like in game but all look like toy models. |

Re: Exclusive Vanguard Screenshots Yes, but I have to say I really like the artistic style of PS2, even if they do have a bit of a warhammer figure feeling to them. |

Re: Exclusive Vanguard Screenshots Using the turnaround, which has a blurry front on the gun, it's a video, after all, and the gun closer to the viewpoint, it looks like it is 12 feet wide. The gun barrel itself has a 13+ inch outside diameter. Silencer, maybe? |

Re: Exclusive Vanguard Screenshots Also, just found this, havn't seen this before: Higby said that the Magrider is pretty much the same size than other MBTs, except a tad wider. |

Re: Exclusive Vanguard Screenshots Just been looking at these screenies again, and i noticed on the second picture up on the ledge just above - level with the second gun barrel is a blue and yellow object, it looks like i daresay a bfr (vomit), i really hope not, im hoping its something else. Thoughts anyone??? |

Re: Exclusive Vanguard Screenshots Makes me wonder what the prowler is going to be like. That thing was a big fat turd in ps1 that sounded like a vacuum cleaner driving by. Wonder what the new one is going to be like |

Re: Exclusive Vanguard Screenshots Not to detract from the obvious splendour of that vehicle but, before now, we really haven't seen Auraxis at all at night, and there are some interesting things to pull from these shots... The first is the tremendous amount of detail in foliage that just wasn't possible in the previous engine; the leaves showing greater levels of realism. Even the terrain in the distance has far better depth than the orginal PlanetSide demonstrated. The second is what I would assume to be deferred lighting from "moonshine", when the sun's light reflects off of the moon and illuminates the surrounding space. As someone who does a bit of level design, it's beautiful to see how far the game has come when light isn't just in a scene, but wraps around objects in it and generates soft shadows as parts of the tank obscure direct light. |
