Firefly has done a great writeup of his experience at the Fan Faire and posted it on the official forums.
The first thing we were given a preview of was an in-game video of turret upgrades. The video of the turrets led me to believe that the nuts and bolts are complete, but the planning for implementation is not. There was an AA turret (flak-based) and an AV turret (based on NC Enforcer rockets). These turrets are designed to be upgraded from the standard version, but they will not auto-fire while unmanned (like current turrets). The only way they are of value is when manned. The current concept is for them to be upgraded by Combat Engineers via a nano-dispenser.Check out his full writeup here. He also promises a more in depth article once he gets settled.

me when i lag. very interesting. I like the outfit cruiser idea. Toobad it cant move like a battleship or something if they do go for an expansion. Cant wait for them to act on some of these. |
