Game Update 08 Unreleased Content Analysis

RoyAwesome is out with his latest Unreleased Content Analysis this time for today's Game Update 08. This GU contained some Hossin Tweaks in the game files as well as the addition of some new things including the appearance of new faction specific pistols.

Almost sneaking past me this week were the models for the next round of Faction Specific Pistols. On the Roadmap these are listed as a fully automatic pistol for the TR, a shotgun pistol for the NC, and a charge-up pistol for the VS

Keep in mind, my model viewer effects are not ingame effects. My simple shaders make stuff look like ass.

nah man, you can tell the models are almost exactly the same as the original pistols, just with a big rail on top lol.

Great work!
Finally a pistol with sights, at least it got a rail for sight attachment!
I just don't know why would someone place a sight on a full auto pistol... But in the tx2 it would be welcome!

Bit of feedback, Roys mistaken with the pistols.

The full Auto TR pistol actaully looks like this

It also has been shown in Beta being used by Higby and in gamefiles is clearly labelled full auto.

These other pistols are brand new pistols again. Also im surprised he hasnt posted up the brand new shotguns yet either or all the Harasser cosmetics coming out. There are some sweet bullbars!

There didnt seem to be a new VS shotgun (not modelled yet) but it begs the question, what type will it be? My guess is full auto since we got 2 semis, 2 pumps, 1 auto.

Heres a few Harasser bumpers, there are quite a few all up.

Eitherway good work, I do enjoy looking at the unreleased content textured. I wish I knew how to put the textures on models so I could help ya out with this.

Curious, why do the seed the updates with unfinished/unreleased assets? Is it just to prevent huge updates down the line?

That pistol is way old. It's still in the files, but has a different name. I came across it while looking these up. Trust me, they are brand new this patch.

Nop, those are really old shotguns. The one you told me about on reddit was added GU7, the other is the original Pumpshotgun model that didn't make it in (GU3 era). You can see them textured here: http://imgur.com/a/ZPeMK#0 (note that this was posted 2 months ago)

As for the harasser cosmetics, I was going to detail those separably. There are a bunch of them

Awww come on, I really miss my AMP from PS1. I really wanted the first machine pistol in PS2 to be NS for all empires.

Also, the shotgun pistol is the one thing I don't want them to do from PS1. I liked it in PS1, but I have a feeling they will make it like the pump actions which I loathe. The new Underboss reminds me of the shotgun pistol from the first game so it's close enough. I really don't want them to add more guns that one shot people.

Finally, a VS pistol that charges up, sure I guess I'd be OK with that.

With a charge pistol there is a big chance that the Beamer will no longer be the worst pistol in the game!

So that's going to be our mechanic then is it? Charge-up? Possibly the least interesting and least useful mechanic imaginable.

I can't wait to storm the new Interlink facilities with a TR army when they come out, much less the new continent.
