Massively had a chance to interview PlanetSide 2 Composer Jeff Broadbent about his work on the musical score in the game. His favorite piece was the Vanu Sovereignty score:
While you probably are proud of all of it, which piece are you most partial to from the PS2 soundtrack
I would have to say I am most fond of the Vanu Sovereignty main theme. I really enjoyed creating the soundtrack for the Vanu; blending synthetic instruments with exotic winds and vocals was a very interesting combination. The main theme has rhythmic drive yet also a mystical feel in the slower sections -- this makes it a very provocative piece of music.
What is your favorite? Hit up the comments and post your thoughts. And of course head on over to Massively to read the full article.

Re: Interview PlanetSide 2 Composer Jeff Broadbent Very nice, good interview. I've actually been talking to him on twitter over the past several days, he's ready to compose for PS2 again if the future (or Rodney ) permits it, and I would sure as hell love to hear more TR choir. He'll consider using more PS1 influence too :-P
But once again, barely any mention of Don. Actually makes me sad, he was so enthusiastic when they hired him, yet he only has the character-selection themes to be proud of.

Re: Interview PlanetSide 2 Composer Jeff Broadbent He is obviously targeting you and wants you to go to a website with a key logger so he can take over your various accounts. Especially your porn sites. You are wise not to follow them. |

Re: Interview PlanetSide 2 Composer Jeff Broadbent I'm on to him. But really, please put a synopsis of the thing you are linking to. Why you have me go to a page just to go to a page is...well. I already block all ads. |

Re: Interview PlanetSide 2 Composer Jeff Broadbent I agree with you on his link posting habits. It's annoying to open a thread just to have to open a new tab or window to see what he is referring. |

Re: Interview PlanetSide 2 Composer Jeff Broadbent We will look into updating it. Sadly no mention of Don Ferrone in this article but we do know he was somewhat involved. |

Re: Interview PlanetSide 2 Composer Jeff Broadbent Love the music. I was under the impression Don Ferrone had more input on the music than this makes it seem. Planetside 1 music so great. The only thing that bothers me is that the TR retain the closest tie to the original music. The main theme will always have a place in my heart lol |
