GameSpy has posted a new PlanetSide 2 article with perspectives from a totally new PlanetSide player and a PlanetSide 1 Veteran.
Mike Nelson, Newb: The first thing that sticks out to me is just how damn big the 64 square km map is. And this is just one of the maps. Even when I was working hard to capture one of the smaller facilities, that alone was larger than most multiplayer maps I've played in other games like Modern Warfare 3. Seeing explosions off in the distance, watching a tank column go rolling by, or spotting a fleet of air transports as it unloads a small army of players is all very cool. War is all around me.
Even though it does not appear the Veteran played a ton of PlanetSide it's still worth a bit of a read. Check out the full article here.

Either his hands went faster than his mind, or he didn't play PS1. EDIT2: BS detector on, found another discrepancy but can't highlight due to NDA. EDIT3: Sorry if this seems harsh Hamma, but I'm reading what I've read for months now and now I'm seeing untruth. |

Re: PlanetSide 2 Newb vs Veteran you are correct about the spiker and Repeater. Being NC I'd horde repeaters when i cloaked (which wasn't often). But you emphasized the class part(or lack thereof in PS1)...which i neglected to, so thank you. |

They could have expanded more on the newb/vet theme as it was a nice idea but as it is you could just remove a few sentences and have a normal article. :P But, hey! PS2 coverage! Getting new people interested! |
