This past week was a busy one in PlanetSide and below are a few items from this past week. First up Rock Paper Shotgun released their list of Very Important PC Games PlanetSide made the list at #8!

There has only really been one MMOFPS, and this is it. Whatever happened after the launch – and what happened was a plan of expansion and development that looked like an unhappy ape had been placed at the controls, ultimately ruining the game’s ability to maintain a high population of combatants – it remains a singularity in the landscape of gaming.

PlanetSide Next keeps all(almost) the features in the original PlanetSide and under this condition, PlanetSide Next adds new contents that will make the game more enjoyable.

PlanetSide ranked #44 on PC Gamers 100 Best PC Games of all time.

Rich: I used to fly escorts for the New Conglomerate. I’d stand next to my royal blue reaver gunship on my spawn island, nonchalantly rifling through my inventory – a pilot for hire. A fat-bellied dropship would rumble by, jet engines superheating the air directly below it. “Anyone want to take a base?” I’d spit out my imaginary gum and hop into my craft’s cockpit, gun the engines and lift off.
