Just curious if the mozilla based browser will grace the UIs of the Forgelight games or not, because I find/found it handy in EQII and SWG. Sure, you could use windowed mode or alt-tab to look something up, but it's so much nicer to stay in the game and have that information as part of the UI.
One thing it would be really good for is organizing events for your outfit, by using a simple forum/calender website inside the actual web browser. All SOE would really need to do is make it easy for a person to set a url as their homepage, by perhaps adding a "set as homepage" button on the browser button bar. The fan sites could do the rest of the work to blend their sites into the UI of the game's browser, such that the sites would simply look like they are actually part of the game. Anyhow, it's such a mundane feature of SOE games (much like cross game chat), yet it's so unique and full of potential at the same time that it would almost be a shame to omit it. That said, it may well be just another thing for hackers to find a hole in... |

Steam overlay won't work with PB, at least on the vast majority of games I've ever seen people attempt to use it in. Steam overlay gets flagged as an inject/overlay of something on the game, same principle wallhacks and the like use.

IMO, I say count on it. My reasoning behind it is.
SOE is going to want to provide the player base the ability to be able to log onto their site and pay for SOE points. People are going to want to buy stuff from the in game item shop. It makes since to me for them to do it that way. Also, with the new battle log similar to BF3. It would make since for them to have this feature also. That way people in game will be able to look up other players info on the fly that they see out on the battlefield. That's how I would do it at least. Last edited by Hmr85; 2012-03-11 at 08:21 AM. |

As long as its nothing like Battlelog. I find the whole using a browser to open your game and browse servers to be rather annoying. I'd much rather open the game up and THEN look at the servers.
Maybe its just me. |

Naturally, but CBA writing it cos APB no longer exists and everyone will most likely know what I mean with APB even without the reloaded
That said, a lot of people made it work with RTW APB as well, but that wasnt supported, and theres a chance PB wouldve been triggered from it too, but since the whole PB was just about never enabled during RTW, hard to say Also, PB in APB:R does not ban for any other common overlay, such as mumble or TS for example.

Not all of us have a $500,000 /year job, mr Wall Streeter.
Adding another monitor is expensive enough, getting a GPU to handle the extra rendering without stealing precious FPS form your main window... impossible :| |
