As some of you know, Planetside was developed in St. Louis and the local TV stations took notice and did a couple of seqments on the early development of the game. This video has some of the only footage of the infamous "purple towers" and gives us a great glimpse into Planetside's roots. About 5 min long and worth the watch.

I click the link and then I click the "here" where it says for non-Winamp 5 havers... and it takes me to that exact same page again.

Click on the files sections, then the top choice. The top file is the one you want. I had this conundrum with the ATD vid last night. Took me a bit of late night frustration, but it was easy in the long run.

Also sry for double post, but i just found a WAYYYYY old PCgamer with an article about PS from back in the day. I think it was before anything even looked remotely the same. It had al the econmy thing, where you go do missions for money to buy your weapons for your "Companies". Ill see what i can do aobut getting some scans up of it. Im going on vacation thursday night, so im not sure when or what i can get done before then. Let me know if you have a place i can upload them to, as i dont know what the size will be.

this game is probaby better than it would have been now thoguth they are cool concepts it would be a totaly different game.

though the old sounds(cycler) and COF i like better aslo the graphics are better but i doubt they could be handled by all but the most modern machines in an MMO enviroment

What ever happened to planetside? yes, i know, i play it, 40000 other people play it, but from those reports it seemed to me that this would be the biggest MMO since everquest. What happened? why dont we have 500000 people playing? It sounded, atleats from that report, that there were going to be tons and tone of players, they even said that there was a hug buzz in the gming world... hmmm

I just got a good idea, im gonna make a report on why PS isnt as popular as it could be, and how to increase the player ammounts by tens of thousands.... look for the report in a few days...

The text at the bottom comes from the files database description. Which just happens to also include a link to the web page viewer. So yes,they are the same link.

This is an activex player - if you aren't using IE, there is a browser plugin that allows activex to work. If you are on a mac, you're out of luck with activex.

That would be hot if they made it a story event or something. Like one on each cont for a day, and the winner who holds the most of them across the planets gets somnething cool, or just mad props on the site!
