Okay, so personal bias glaringly obvious, I prefer "The Triumvirate" over this.

Wow! This is one absolutely the best; I guess they just keep getting better!
TR using holo-boulders as cover? Sounds like some badass Terran combat engineering to me! i DEFINITELY want different factions to have different resources and tactics. The names in this one were much better, edging more toward that line of a more stylish culture than just 100% mainstream-from-the-phonebook. And the ending of this article is very meaningful. Top notch. Love it. ~Zachariah Edit- Also, the Terrans have armor-piercing rounds that penetrate plating layers and then explode inside the targets? HELL YEAH! I am getting seriously excited to see what my Vanu brothers and sisters are going to get to play with! Last edited by LZachariah; 2011-10-14 at 12:34 PM. |

The interesting part about this story to me so far is seeing the fact that on Earth the Terran Republic had actually been a GOOD thing for everyone, even the New Con seemed to be basically fighting for restoring the freedoms of the original Republic.
I gotta say it might be the smurf in me but this was my favorite chapter. Also, too bad for our little friend Genny Jones. She picked the wrong side. |

Nope, and I wonder what kind of freedom this writer has. It is fiction, but I'm beginning to think everyone assumes what ever he writes will be in game. I wonder what kind of rules he has.

Seems like it has more editorial errors too, though it certainly came out fast. Issues: (as caught by Raymac & LZachariah) Searhous instead of Searhus. The TR were hiding in a (singular) crevice large enough for 6. The TR gun kill 9, wound 3, and lose 4 (two left). Walsh, with at least 4 others, reveals the SEVEN phoenixes, and fires them, killing 4 TR, leaving two (Genny and some kid). Problem 1: Walsh advances while vigorously giving away his position by firing at all the boulders. Throw rocks? Grenades? Anything but firing that incredibly loud gorilla-on-PCP shotgun you've got there. BOOM-chaka-BOOM-chaka... Derp. Problem 2: The TR kill 9 (I call BS right there, "Only imperial troops are so precise" my ass), and CAPTURE 3? In the middle of a fire fight? No wonder 4 of them died. Derp! Problem 3: There were 6 TR with 4 dead. Walsh and his 4 compatriots run away from 2 TR (after killing 4 of them, but only because the TR advanced out of their cover and tried to take prisoners in the middle of a fire fight). Derpy derp. Problem 4: Walsh and his 4 compatriots (5 total) fire 7 phoenixes. Derptastic. And they're fired remotely... which could just be a New Thing in PS2, or more derpish derpy derpderp. There's some wiggle room on the numbers here for the NC, but that just makes their running away from the two surviving TR from the initial engagement look that much more foolish. RUN COWARD</Sinistar>. Now, with the Phoenixes in play, there are "cubby holes" plural, not singular. That's fine, and if it had been "unspecified plural" right out of the get go, the NCs retreat would sound reasonable instead of girly-girl-don't-chip-my-new-yellow-and-blue-manicure-with-your-mean-ol-bullets.
