We dont have any information how exactly things will go, means how many people get in. But regardless, beta starts, its going to happen.

Many moons ago, he said he wuoldn't cut his hair until beta, hence the excitment.

He said that he would not cut his hair until people are let in, not when beta starts. I believe this is in reference to the external tech test, not beta sadly

They really should charge admission fees for PSU members.

On a side note, what is the hair going to do after being cut? Attach itself onto a new host? Spend it's autumn years on a bald person's head or perhaps become attached right above the lip in whatever style is the fashion at the time?

You do realise, that "tech test" is affectively Beta, despite Smed's statement, right? Random people are let in - external testing, be it pre-beta or beta is no big difference.

I belive this means that an EXTERNAL tech test will begin in a few days. During this test the team will select a variety of machines to test PS2 on, selecting from the survey we filled out. The test will go for an unknown amount of time, and will be followed by beta.

I think Higby's agreement was to not cut his hair until people are being let in; the external tech test might count for that, allowing for the rumor of a haircut on Thursday which is within the timeline of "the next 2 days".

This makes me excited! PS2 will finally be leaving the alpha state
