Why no FFA mode?

I enjoy all the empire vs. empire stuff but sometimes I just want to have a right proper rumble with anyone and everyone. What if one zone in the game was a FFA (Free For All) zone. As son as you enter you can shoot and be shot by anyone from any faction. It would also be a way to "duel" with members of your own faction that you just can't stand.

FFA, to me, just feels more like a pure FPS.

Well first of all it sounds like it would be instanced and we all know the communities view on that.

Secondly, you can have FFAs within the game, you just have to organize it with other players. A little social interaction never hurt anybody.

Thirdly, if you really want a game with multiple modes, then once again, play one. We don't have to turn PS2 into every other game out there. Kind of destroys it's uniqueness when it's just like every other game.

No one else ever felt the need to kill half their own faction? Maybe it's just me but I'm constantly skirting a lockout.

You could TK your entire faction if you invest enough time and money into alternate accounts to avoid getting banned/grief locked.

Follow your dreams!

Exactly. I don't see what the strong opposition is to having a small arena where everyone can vent some steam and play some FFA rounds.

I mean if I couldn't die IRL I'd go berserk at everyone and everything.

You don't get grief for attacking people in your squad usually which is why I used to duel people in my squad when we were bored.

I'm with everyone else pretty much. I don't think there should be a FFA place. I can't really see how that could help with the territory battle system or resources. Would you get anything in this FFA arena? To me it sounds like a distraction.

Actually I see your point. With that in mind a FFA mode wouldn't really be needed. Topic over, please close it mods.

To me, an asymmetrical game like PS would be terrible for FFA. It would come down to who brings the bigger gun, more often than not. So basically, everyone would probably die to maxes, unless someone is ridiculously good with rockets and another is terrible with powered armor.

On another note... Bronze, how much of PS did you actually play?
