Basically what I'm asking is why do you think the game is named Planetside? What does the name mean to you? Why the hell does the name sound so damn cool?

Hmmm, battle takes place on a planet, there are 3 different sides living or adapting on one planet! Pick a side and free the planet of all nuisance, so we can live as one big happy family!!

The sole reason they named it Planetside is because a good portion of the people who are going to play think they're going to be sniperz.
How does that tie in? Well... Easy transition Sniperside.

I've always felt that the name Planetside was derived from the word "Stateside" which refers to being in the United States. It's orogin comes from WWII when soldiers couldn't wait to get back home, or "Stateside". So in this case it's people wanting to get "Home" after traveling through space.
I have also heard the term "Planetside" used in Si-Fi before to describe getting off the ship, and out of space, as in "We're going Planetside for a little R&R". |
