How do I turn off PARTS of the UI

I see every damn hud overlay icon for friendlies and enemies. Is there a way to turn them off without turning the whole hud off?

Or is there an option I'm missing to adjust the size of the ui or remove entire sections of it?

When I'm foot in a fairly large battle it get's reakky distracting when I see red triangles all over the place but the guy right in front of my comes up nothing I know and agree it should be like that, it's the other triangles that are distracting.

When I'm in a vehicle half the damn screen is taken up by the UI with the minimap, the veh health indicator, the addtional hud lines for *asthetic effect*

TLDR -- Is there anyway to customize the UI besides that "consolidate HUD" option?

I think ctrl+I turns off all indicators (it's a new toggle).

It's not just an aesthetic issue, the HUD is a performance hit and accounts for 15% of my FPS (just tested it with both CTRL+I and on/off).

I've suggested it before, but we could use an option to display just the central HUD showing the reticle, ammo, health, shield, special, etc. Perhaps a hotkey to toggle between full HUD and minimal HUD, so we can locate terminals, etc.

I'm wondering if you know any option to just turn off the triangle markers. I imagine they are just bitmaps so maybe there a ini file where I can disable them...
