Terragen v0.8.68

I was looking on Kazaa for the Fileplanet video(whos isn't???), and found this program called Terragen v0.8.68. I think it's the terrain editor for Planetside, which it says it in the program information.

So i say, "Sweeet, i foudn the terrain editor!!!"

or so i thought.

When i tried to install it, the normal window came up asking, "Would you like to install Terragen v0.8.68?" I clicked Next-> and it went through a download, REALLY FAST, like 1 second worth of downlaod time, and then it clsoed, not saying, "You have sucessfully installed Terragen v0.8.68." or something like that. I'm not even sure if it downloaded, and it might even be a fake.....that's what i'm thinking....

I already sacnned it with norton anti-virus and it ain't a virus...so waht now? i can't get it to work, any suggestions?

Terragen sounds familiar, but it is DEFINATELY NOT a terrain editor for Planetside. Would be worthless even if it was, as the maps are only on the servers.

i'm not sure, because it says right in the file information(where you right-click it and go to properties, then click the version tab) "Planetsdie Map Generator"

HEy, it's not liek the maps just came outta no where...

Terragen is used in T2 mapping, tho only for skys, i tryed making a terrain for fun and i gota pretty nice pic outa it....Tho I dunno what the actual reason for land making is...

I'd be surprised if PlanetSide used it for terrains.....tho not the skys cause they look easly made by Terragen.

I doubt Terragen was used for T2. (It's not even a complete work yet) but it is indeed pretty cool. I discovered this little gem last year. It generates a landscape according to the user's modifications of climat, altitude, snow pattern, etc. It makes some very cool wallpaper even if you have no clue wtf you're doing. I recommend it to anybody with a good PC and a wanting to make nice wallpapers.

so you download random .exe files off of kazaa and run them?

i dont know about if it was used during the making, but it is used now for forien mappers, believe me, I know.

If ya dont....walk round T2maps .

Terragen has been around forever man. It's a great tool. I used it all the time, mapping for Serious Sam. In fact, the Serious Sam dev team used it for ALL of their exterior terrain, including shadowmaps.
