We got the first part of the backstory, and the first questions already arrive.
So, as always: You post your questions here, i put them on the list, Hamma asks them during the dev chat, you get all answeres to your and others questions at PSU (i assume hamma or someone else does it again, because others are way faster than me on this. ) Questions away! REMEMBER THE CHARACTER LIMIT! Lets go: Question: With more emphasis on the story, can we expect a cinematic opening or trailer? Answer: Question: Will any of the SOE staff play under the names of some of those story characters? Answer: Question: Are there any plans to add new bits of storyline to go along with future additions of new vehicles or other larger scale changes? Answer: Question: Will there be a way to be recruited into another faction? Answer: Question: What purpose did the fortifications serve prior to the war between VS/TR/NC? Who or what were they meant to defend against? Answer: Question: What are some of Marv's ideas that we'll see, in game? Answer: Question: How does respawning affect the ability to write stories with impact? Answer: Question: Will new content be delivered with an engaging story line as to why its there? Answer: Question: Will there be events within the game that continue the story in one way or another? Answer: Question: Will the storyline be incorporated into outfit customization options? Answer: Question: Is each faction's primary goal to first completely secure Auraxis? Or do faction-goals differ? Answer: Question: Will renown locations in lore serve as geographical names in game? Answer: Question: Will there be a way for players to record battles to help share their own war stories? Answer: Question: Will we find out What's Really Going On with Auraxis, or will viewpoints be confined to characters with limited knowledge? Answer: Question: Will the mission system incorporate lore from the backstory? Answer: Question: Will the story play more of a role than just something to read before playing? Answer: Question: Will PS2 be moving more in the direction of a FPS/RPG because of the story elements? Answer: Question: Will there be NPC's that are associated with the lore? Answer: Question: Will you be able to create story driven tasks in the mission system? Answer: Question: Will there be an Auraxian calendar, and an Auraxian day/night cycle? (Instead of Earth time) Answer: Question: Will the lore give a reason why there is such a short day/night cycle on Auraxis (guestimated at 2 hours)? Answer: Question: Remotely controlled Phoenixes? In game? Answer: Question: Holo-boulders? In game? Answer: Question: Will you still call it "rebirthing" in game? Answer: Question: Is "Vanu" a species or an individual? Answer: Question: So far we've only seen a single Galaxy. Where are all the vehicles? Answer: Question: Are all members of the VS following Vanu of their own free will? Was Kool-Aid involved? Does the story align with what the actual game play will be like? For instance, in the back story there was the following line:
“115 Mini chain guns. We need two crates of bolt drivers. They’re also going to need cyclers and repeater pistols. And don’t forget the dome blasters. You got all that, Jones?”. Does that means nanites no longer exist and there is some other mechanic that will be used, for instance resources? |

Will we get any in game missions from some of the characters of the story?

What purpose did the fortifications built on Auraxis serve prior to the war between the three empires? Who or what were they meant to defend against?
Did Marv's writing have any influence on the game, or was it entirely the other way around? EDIT: The "Massively" interview specifically stated that ideas flowed in both directions. When can we see significant Vanu incorporation into the story, i.e. explations on Vanu tech and why VS are the only empire to use it to such a degree for weapons and not spawning and such.

Ultimately, do each of the factions actually have a different goal? For instance, are the TR trying to reintegrate VS and NC, while the NC trying to separate and become autonomous, etc? Or are they all simply trying to "take over Auraxis?"
