You do not have to join a Outfit. However, I would highly recommend it as you would more than likely have more fun running with a group of friends/people with a similar play style who have your back than solo.

The real answer to your question is... absolutely not. Lone wolf all you want.
There are a lot of elements in the game that are designed with outfits/team play in mind, but it isnt like other MMOs where MOBs are tuned to multiple assailants. You can even play a medic... solo... and be useful. That said, outfits are not the final word in "teamplay", but you did say lone wolf. So, I suspect you may not squad often either, as an assumption from my understanding of lone wolfing. You will miss out on some stuff though, or experience it less often. Examples might be Galaxy drops, squad spawning, outfit perks, just teamplay in general. Up to you though, your money is as good as anyones, and you dont even need that.

I'll agree here, a couple friends allows you to coordinate your own small operations, which can in many ways be more fun (and occasionally more effective) than being one of many nameless soldier getting told what to do. It is fun to be one part of a greater purpose though.
My advice would be to join a casual outfit though, so you can have a little bit of everything if you get bored of lone wolfing. Although who knows, the auto-squad feature might be enough for fill this need. |
