This event officially became a big joke. While I do agree Tobuscus and Seananners being horrible representatives from the perspective of PS2 players, actually giving into criticism is even worse. Fire these marketing guys, really.

The original idea of this campaign was to attract new players. Giving in to criticism and sacking Tobuscus for Levelcap is nothing more than admitting this whole campaign has failed.

I'm actually very happy about this. Tobuscus looked and acted like a complete joke compared to the others. As a VS player the main reason I didn't give two shits for this campaign was due to how Tobuscus played himself in the original promo video.

Holy hell, that new video. Levelcaps bit was just very off putting, he looked and sounded like the scary kid in the back of the buss.

From Levelcaps videos I can see he has damn good skill and knows a LOT more about the game than Toby. A great thing indeed, but that bit in the event video was "something else".

This event was never meant for us, "the real players" which is what marketing has clearly underestimated because you still need to connect to your current audience.
I'm a marketing guy, professionally, and lesson # 1 in marketing is to never go for a new audience without alienating your current customer base.

Marketing amateurs, really. I hereby openly apply for a marketing job at SOE.

sounds like someone is scared now that level cap is going to mop the floor with the other two factions.

BTW, "real" players are on the squads with TB LC and Sea Nanners.

Don't get me wrong T-Ray, I'm still with you in this campaign to attract new players and Levelcap is for sure the best representative VS players could have ever wished for.

But from a marketing perspective, you've got to admit a few mistakes have been made. Like many players, we are happily to forgive these mistakes though because with LevelCap, we finally have a good representative for VS

Ok something I didn't quite get. Are all three of these "leaders" going to be battling on one server? If so, which one? The website didn't quite clarify that. I'm a yank but I fight on Miller and Jaeger, depending on time I'm playing.

Sean Anners may not be the greatest PS2 players(and I had personally never heard of him before) but given the intent of this he is by no means "horrible."
He doesnt seam like a bad guy.

Tobuscus on the other hand made no sense at all in this role.

Tobuscus did not get sacked, the Vanu were so excited about their new leader they gave him access to their newest weapon technology that didnt quite finish all tests yet, and due to some unfortunate circumstances he got transformed into a puddle of purple goo that not even nanites could fix up.

I personally, am a fan of Toby, but I'm glad he's not leading. He isn't the tactical type.
I'm also glad levelcap took over, maybe the VS recruiting could slow down a little. The other factions, especially the NC, on my server are being dwarfed by the VS. They have over 60% of the total server population.
