I mean, no, you cant swim, you have a certain amount of air reserve underwater, once it runs out, you drown.

I believe the devs said that you are like a rock, with the sinking invulved(and dont tell me my that really small pebbles can float ). And if you're air supply runs out while you are underwater, you die. I swear i saw that in one of these forums*... I think...
