I'm just posting to see if anyone has an explanation.
and btw I had no problem myself but I'm just posting on behalf of outfit members who did. When we were all trying to get into the game yesterday many of us found that the game client would only allow a connectino to Proseiben, even those would were ex-ps1 players and even 1 or 2 who had played ps2 beta. Any ideas anyone why? The people concerned are based mostly in UK. ta |

Make sure to download the SOE client (http://launch.soe.com/installer/PS2_setup.exe) and log-in with your Station Account which you used to play the PlanetSide 2 beta.

Can it be downloaded and ported to be used with the Pro7 launcher btw? Any files that need to be switched around? |

Indeed, I suspect the issues are related to account / installer versions mismatch :
A new EU player (regardless of is PS1 vet status or not) is supposed to install the game with the EU installer and use a prosieben account. A beta EU player can install the game with the US/SOE installer and use his SOE account. Problem is when the websites were overloaded at launch, the devs on twitter gave shortcuts to the US installer only (at first). EDIT :
Maybe by editing ClientConfigLiveLaunchpad.ini but it would be wiser to make a fresh install with the pro7 installer from here : http://launch.soe.com/installer/PS2_PSG_setup.exe Last edited by Valkan; 2012-11-21 at 08:32 AM. |

Thanks for the replies.
I don't think there was any harm done, just a hell of a lot of confusion. In the end we said, if you haven't bought alpha squad and don't have any station cash then it doesn't matter, go ahead a create a Prosieben account. On a personal note I'm watching the SOE/Prosieben thing and will probably transfer my account once that facility is available and everything settles down. |

I really dont get you guys? It was SPAMMED into everyone face how this works.
Everyone who was in beta can continue to use the SOE account. Everyone who creates a new account to play PS2 has to use Pro7. Its like, simple shit. |

These may sound like rookie questions but I'll ask anyway:
1) I assume SOE and Prosiben accounts can play on all the same servers (despite having different clients) after the community revolted (i.e. I can play with friends on either NA or EU servers with my SOE account even though they are now signing up with Prosiben accounts?) 2) What incentive / differences could I expect between SOE and Prosiben - would it litterally be a case that currency models are either Station Cash (which I'm presuming is US $) or Prosiben Cash (which I'm guessing is Euros €)? Being from the UK, both would incur an exchange rate for me - I don't know which would be of more benefit? 3) Could I expect better value from one party? I.e. I see a lot of double / triple station cash offers - would Prosiben do the same or am I better off staying where I am? Thanks for any advice / clarification in advance! |

It is clearly SOE's fault for not getting their tables clean on that and screwing up with 2 different database systems that can neither communicate nor adapt connectivity on the fly directly after checking both databases. A proper launcher should always be able to connect to both databases first time and then set the default to the one the account is from. Clearly, a mistake in logic by them. |

2) Prosieben; multilingual support. 3) We do not know yet, but there will probably those offers too since Prosieben mentioned they copy SOE's model in every regard. |
