The galaxies coming with repair/ammo abilities make me wish there was a map that had large floating islands with capture points so that the vast majority of the vehicle combat is air based.. using the galaxies for transport, repair and ammo supplies.. making them crucial to protect when advancing while having the bases be focused on infantry combat that is indoors taking over large floating facilities.

Woot, I don't know if I had anything to do with it but I suggested to T-Ray and Higby on multiple occasions that we should get a NS-fighter plane that was like the Banshee from SC2. Here's hoping they make a manned aircraft with the turbine fan blades in the future.

Every time I've suggested the Phantasm though, they come back with "What use would that be on the battlefield?". When ever I explain what use it would be, they never respond though. Would be a great tool to use for small tactical black ops missions to get behind enemy lines and sabotage stuff or set up ambushes. The Galaxy is a huge ass target that you can see from across the map. The Phantasm would be just like it was in PS1, can only seat 1 pilot and 4 passengers, no armaments, and a cloaking device. It definitely would fit well with the hover nature of aircraft in Planetside.
The only problem I see is that all of Planetside's aircraft have used engines rather than fanblades for propulsion (lore-based issue). |
