As long as the game doesn't rubberband me back so that I can get hit by the tank I dodged a few seconds ago, then go go magmower.

Just wanted to add that in the recently released footage, Higby gets run over by a magrider.

I was happy to see that returned to the game and it didn't look like it impacted the magrider at all.

He also mentioned nearly getting run over by a friendly tank as well.

Awesome to see these core aspects of Planetside alive and well. Infantry should learn to use terrain to avoid being run over, and friendly fire is important.

Great to see on both accounts.

Did you guys seriously think that they wouldve let you get run over by a tank and not be harmed?

Would've been an unlikely scenario IMO

An unlikely scenario that occurred in PS1.

Mowing was a pretty bad part of the original, and I wouldn't want to see it become a real thing. It fucks with balance if people in vehicles can just instantly kill infantry simply by moving into them, and it really just isn't any fun to deal with as an infantry guy. Limiting the power of hitting infantry was a good decision the original game made, and it's one that should be revisited in PS2.

There's also things called 'cover', like rocks, and trees, and rough terrain that make it difficult for a tank to run over infantry. Its common in other FPS games that infantry avoid running in wide open roads where they are exposed to gunfire and easily run over and stick to terrain that is more favorable to them.

I see mowing as an instrument of natural selection. People will either adapt and play better and play smarter, or they will pad others' kill counts with their badness. In the case of the latter, the're probably also having troubles with many other parts of the game.

Someone needs to vent this thread for smug before it explodes.

Tactics which don't place any significant demands for skill upon the player should reward the player for doing them accordingly.
